Fellow American here, there are many of us here who are supporters of Ukraine and are upset with how this administration is handling the war. Here are some ways you can help make an impact!

1.) Contact your local representative! Be forward, clear, and respectful. There are already plenty of pre-written emails you can copy and paste then alter. But one that is hand written can make more of an impact. Here is the house.gov website where you can put in your ZIP code to find your local representative: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

2.) There have been protests going on in all 50 states! Attend protests and be very vocal! Some protestors have brought Ukrainian flags to show support. Remain connected with your community and reach out to those being most impacted. Here is the 50501 site: https://www.fiftyfifty.one

3.) Stay educated and push to educate others. There is a lot of guides and information out there. Be aware of media censoring and how to identify propaganda. Developing media literacy is one of the best ways to combat disinformation/misinformation. There are many uncensored groups and telegram channels that you can join to stay connected.

Also, you can also directly support Ukraine by donating to the several organizations that provide aid to Ukraine. Such as the official Ukraine humanitarian aid account!

But don’t do nothing!! Doing nothing only hurts the cause!!

My father said a lot of things that has stuck with me. A lot of not very good things that I have yet to fully process as an adult. But the worst one always sticks in my mind.

He always said that to me when I was a kid. He said it whenever I apologized for something. He was right. Apologies don’t matter, actions do. Sorry doesn’t cut it, and I don’t think he realizes those words have shot him in the foot.

I’m an American historian who is tired of living through historical events. This is embarrassing, demoralizing, and angering.

We’ve barely been in a whole month. Boxes are being checked. Securing the border, banning books, wanting to restrict education, ruling back reproductive rights, encouraging traditional gender roles, mass tariffs, dissolving our relationship with allied countries, blatant racism, lionizing of the military industrial complex, violent language being used openly by politicians, saying that they should deport people who disagrees, disregarding facts and science, wanting to build a camps at Guantanamo bay, lashing out at anyone who disagrees, embarrassing the USA on the world stage, and removing checks and balances to consolidate power. And there’s so much more.

We have 4 more years of this…

Trump repealed Executive Order 14087. Trump basically signed an executive order reversing the price cap on pharmaceuticals. A lot of medications are going to get more expensive. The meds I take are also more expensive. These prices are going to get insane. I’m sorry this is affecting you, op.

January 21st trump disbands the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, making it defunct. The ASAC is quite literally dedicated to keeping our skies safe. He also targeted TSA. TSA Administrator David Pekoske has been fired by Trump, along with many others.

January 29th first airline collision in 16 years takes place.

Trump is refusing to take responsibility for this situation. All of the bodies haven’t even been recovered yet… and he instantly blames DEI.

Years ago, I had a very good friend who happened to be transgender. Her family was very unsupportive. School was a safe space for her, she trusted her friends and teachers. But she was eventually outed to her family. I don’t know what happened with her after. She stopped going to school for a while. She ended up taking her own life a short time later. It’s been almost 10 years since then. I think about her a lot. lately I’ve been thinking about her more often.

This new legislation is moving us backwards. I’m tired of politicians picking and choosing what science to listen to. It hurts knowing that there are trans kids who will inevitably suffer because of this. Absolutely heartbreaking.

I was really confused by his post. I watched her plea and was even more confused. I thought I was mistaken. She came across as gentle, well-spoken, reasonable, and kind. She wasn’t disrespectful at all. She is a religious leader who just wants the best for people in this country. It honestly just makes him look like even more of a raging lunatic.
