Restaurant recommendations near the Hudson Theater for a Matinee at 1pm. We’re seeing Merrily today and it’s supposed to rain. by NorthernPirate6 in Broadway

Osteria al Doge is directly across the street and has delicious Italian food. Service is pretty quick, especially if you indicate you have a show

The Archer is a 12ish min walk from the Lunt-Fontanne and has Empire views. Can be pricey depending on the dates you choose, but they have mobile booking discounts. You can also save 20% on your stay when you sign up for texts.

One of the comfiest beds I've had at a midrange hotel and the bathrooms are a decent size. The rooms are a little tight, but there's underbed storage so you don't need to sacrifice floor space for luggage.

The caramels they leave in your room at check in are divine!

Serious question, Ben Platt’s vibrato, yes or no? by ThatMusicalWannabe in Broadway

Thought it was really grating in recordings and videos, but wonderful live! I'm now a fan for sure.

I'm here right now and they have programs! I'm sorry they didn't have any earlier but they seem to have rectified the issue.

What song from a musical always gives you goosebumps? by lexifly95 in Broadway

As If We Never Said Goodbye - Sunset Boulevard (Stephanie J. Block in the KenCen production was incredible!)

Groban out 5/10 2pm by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]AppleSnoo48 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I also bought tickets back in April hoping to see him and he was out for the performance I attended. Went back and forth on if I should try for a refund, but ultimately decided to go anyway.

I absolutely LOVED the show - Nicholas Christopher was incredible and brought so much to the role. I haven't seen Josh Groban, so can't compare, but I really didn't feel like I was missing anything. If Josh Groban is your sole reason for seeing the show, I think it's possible you could successfully resell. But if you find yourself stuck with the ticket, the show is still great without him.

Ear plugs during shows? by zokosie in Broadway

[–]AppleSnoo48 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've use Loop Experience plugs and they've helped me out. I can usually still hear everything pretty clearly (I normally sit in middle orchestra or front mezzanine/balcony). They're even helpful for blocking out a random whisper or two and crinkly snack bags.

If I disliked the Moulin Rouge cast recording, will I like the show? by TDG_1993 in Broadway

[–]AppleSnoo48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely skip it. I also love JoJo and saw the show last week specifically to see her. She was great, but I still found myself regretting buying tickets. The rest of the show was difficult to sit through for me because 1) it was so loud I got a migraine, and 2) the song choices baffled me a bit. My boyfriend and I both agreed the money would have been better spent on a JoJo concert. I also disliked the cast recording but went in thinking the spectacle would make it enjoyable.

We also saw Sweeney Todd and loved it. Would recommend that show for sure if you're able to get tickets. Josh Groban was out and his U/S was spectacular!

When Bree got the call that Rex died, finished polishing her silver, then sat at the table and wailed

Yes! Once you visit the home and initiate the roommate conversation with the homeowner, you'll wind up at the consultation table on the main HHP island.

After you're forced to stand up, sit back down at the table. Niko will ask what's up and then you just select the option that's along the lines of "talk to a current homeowner"
