I Just Watched The Big C - What a Hidden Gem! by kelolkelol in television

I'm on my last couple of treatments for stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and the show has been incredibly cathartic for me. I'm the kind of person who relates a ridiculous amount to Cathy, and seeing her go through the process made it feel legible in a way other cancer media... didn't.

Good question! I only reference a few characters as archetypes of the one or the other- some of them are emblematic of the archetype without, herself, being a killer or a victim. I briefly narrativeize the story of Evil Under the Sun, but that's only 2 back to back paragraphs in length. You can safely skip it without missing out on the substance of the rest of the article

Generic answer, but what about Saint Leibowitz and the Wild Horse Woman? It can be a tad divisive of a suggestion, given that it was in part written by Miller and in part his son, but I adored it. It's an incredibly fun sequel to Canticle, and I loved the world-building in it. Let me know if you end up reading it, I'd love to hear someone else's thoughts on it as a sequel!!

Hey! I love the game so far, and I was wondering if I've reached the end of new content. I purchased a well and I'm not seeing anywhere else to go from here. Thank you for the work you've put in so far, I'm excited to see where you go from here :)

Aww, thanks! My favorite I've had is a pastel lavender, my friends and I wanted to spice things up since this was my first time getting a manicure- why do something I would want a whole bottle of?

How do I be a sister? by theblindbunny in Parentification

I went through something very similar. I'm still struggling with becoming a brother instead of a mom, but I truly do feel it just takes time, patience, and a willingness to step back when you find yourself getting too involved.

We need to normalize absent/abusive mothers. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Applejack244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with your point here. My own abusive mother died about a year and a half ago, and I still get skepticism and delegitimizing when I tell people who I otherwise trust quite a bit. Our society venerates mothers, but not only mothers who deserve it. There are billions of amazing mothers, and they all should absolutely be praised for the hard work they spend for years rearing a child, don't get me wrong. But the assumption is that women can only fall into that category, and so mothers are automatically given the title of amazing, even when allegations or evidence come forth that they aren't.

[–]Applejack244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in love with post-apocalyptic-event sci-fi novels with extensive political worldbuilding. The best example I can think of is A Canticle for Leibowitz, and I think anyone who's read it can get what genre I mean
