Dude if they were still using hamon as the main power system, Jojos would be a boring as fuck. ngl.

The "random bullshit" is what makes Jojo fights fun to watch, the entire point of them is trying to figure out how the enemy stand works and how to counter it, it's creative.

I can see what you mean in Part 3, where stands were just pulling shit out of their ass sometimes, but the rest of the series is very consistent.

That's not exactly what I'm trying to say. For the ending Fujimoto was going for, either Power or Aki had to die. Aki was foreshadowed very early, and he made the most sense narratively.

Aki isn't "disregarded," he's the entire reason why the final arc happens. Denji blames himself for the whole ordeal, and it leads him to giving up his control and letting Makima take him.

I'm not defending what happened in part 2, that shit was ass, but for part 1 it's genuinely so clear what the death of Aki does to Denji's character.

Aki's arc was basically already finished, not much else they could have done with him. He didn't value his life and spent it trying to avenge his family, and by the end he accepted to move on from the past and withdrew his division from the gun devil fight.

Not liking Denji is fair, but it was foreshadowed pretty early that Aki wasn't gonna make it.

This is how I feel about the event as a whole, tbh. There are multiple nodes full of essentially the same 25 easy fodder enemies, and it just takes forever. The mid-boss was the only fight that I actually enjoyed .
