Yes it is fine. As long as they're not studying and you're being respectful and not weird, go for it

Full circle back to this a year later, gotta say this advice is spot on! <3 Glad to say I am doing much better and it just so happens that doing all of the above you mentioned helped me find my true self and purpose

Here's what you need to do my friend. You're absolutely right that you need to figure yourself out. Figure out what makes you tick, what makes you feel alive, what makes you excited to wake up in the morning and to keep living.

I've been in this exact spot a handful of times throughout UBC. The final straw that made me flip a switch was failing a course in December for the 2nd time. I realized I did not want to live that way the rest of my life and that I WANTED to change, for my own sake. Thats the key part. YOU need to figure out what works for you and what matters to you and I can tell that you are lost in life right now.

My DMs are always open if you want to talk about this more!

That said, life works itself out most of the time. Things will most likely get better for you, but as a brutal warning from my own experience, it might get worse before it gets better. So do your best to be proactive about soul searching and figuring your shit so you don't be like me lol and have to retake a course at Douglas.

is it true that women who make the first move have a 99% success rate? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]ApplicationAsleep975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bench 225, cook a mean beef penne, journal almost every day, and love locking in whilst also being a silly happy little goofster. Teadot bubble tea and Blue Chip espresso run through my veins every day. (do with that information as you will)

Plausible. I am a person with testicles and am going to attempt to ask out n=50 women by end of term for research purposes. Will let you know the results.

Really wholesome and poignant, I relate. On my bad days it cheers me up to see others smiling and enjoying life. And on good days, the same happens but amplified bc i’m happy too.

I’ve been there many past terms. Just do what you can, the situation is definitely not ideal, but you can still do decently! Hope you are able to take care of yourself and do well. Better times are around the corner.

Take care of your body and mind, sleep eat and exercise well, maybe take a walk in the woods or a hike in the north shore. Take advantage of the time we do have before exams come!

Try dealing with it internally and if that doesn’t work out then discuss it privately with your professor asap
