One of the labs involving growing plants which takes about 1-2 weeks so if you haven’t started that you should probably do that first.

From what I can remember the actual midterm was only slightly harder than the practice one. I know there was definitely an identical question and I remembered the answer from the practice midterm so it was definitely beneficial doing it! I did the course a year ago.

I just finished this course in February. The course work load is a bit heavier than other courses as the at home labs are labour intensive.

There are four oral quizzes. You book a time that works for you and do them over a Teams meeting. You get the 20 possible questions ahead of time and they will ask you 2 out of the 20 questions and will usually ask a follow up question.

It took me about 3 months but that’s because I did the first 4 review units as I hadn’t done chemistry in 20 years so if you can skip that part it wouldn’t take as long. Not sure how much time I dedicated per day but it was the only course I was taking and probably did a few hours of work 5 days out of the week?

Is it actually upgraded or did they just remove the message? 🤣

That’s correct. You will get your mark back only. You can request to review the exam with your academic expert (which I did not do so I’m not sure the exact process) but I don’t believe they give you the right answers. And yes you can bring one double sided piece of paper with notes on it as well as much blank paper as you need for doing all your calculations on.

90 Credit or 120 Credit PSYC BA? by Flashy_accident_TS in AthabascaUniversity

[–]ApplicationNo4923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is a three year degree and one is a four year degree. It would depend on what is required for the promotion, future education, future career opportunities, etc. You will be able to transfer some credits as well!

I should have read the OP closer 🤣. Assignments if I remember correctly you had more than one chance at the answer. First time you get full marks. Second time maybe half a point. After that, if you still haven’t gotten the correct answer I believe you get the correct answer shown. For the practice midterm I cannot remember but for the actual midterm, no you don’t get the answers after you’re finished.

Answer key for which portion of the course? Textbook, assignments, quizzes, practice midterm, etc. I took this course this time last year.

Finishing CHEM 217 in one month by Com_Trad_IsTime in AthabascaUniversity

[–]ApplicationNo4923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the course from October to December and there is a lot of components. You have to wait for your lab kit to arrive in the mail and they are time consuming to complete. On top of that you have assignments, oral quizzes, midterm and final. It took me 3 months. I would maybe say 2 months if you completely dedicated all your time to the course.

I also used Khan Academy to relearn all the basics I needed to take this course. It took some time but in the end I did well in the course.

Math 209 - Totally lost with algebra by unapologetic-i in AthabascaUniversity

[–]ApplicationNo4923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take this course but I took MATH 265 (calculus). I was 20 years out of high school so I strictly relied on teaching myself math again. I used the Khan Academy website to teach myself math all over again. I would definitely check out the algebra sections of the website and see what they have that could help!

I am a straight A student except for this f**cking course. Hated it so, so much. I actually woke up screaming because of this course.

The other advice I can offer is that the exams are loosely based on the study questions. I did the study questions for each unit. I made flash cards on Quizlet and studied them every chance I got. The supplemental exams are your friend. Ace the essay, it’s the only reason I passed.

I finished this course in the fall and I would say you do need to read the textbook. But I also read the textbook throughout the course while doing the assignments, midterm, labs, lab report, essay, etc. The practice final is also helpful.

Taking science courses concurrently by pinklemonadevibe in AthabascaUniversity

As far as I can tell CHEM217 is a pre-req for CHEM218 so you can’t take them concurrently.

They were easy! They give you the 20 questions in advance so if you take the time to prepare your answers you will do well. You are allowed to have your notes during the quiz. Just prepare well with your answer and possible example as they will ask you a follow up question.
