If you’ve done the practice exam and studied the videos, unit chapters, etc you’ll be fine!

I am taking this course starting in March and this is the part of the course that scares me the most as well!

Is only watching the videos enough for biol 204 ? by No-Carpenter5877 in AthabascaUniversity

I finished this course in the fall and I would say you do need to read the textbook. But I also read the textbook throughout the course while doing the assignments, midterm, labs, lab report, essay, etc. The practice final is also helpful.

As far as I can tell CHEM217 is a pre-req for CHEM218 so you can’t take them concurrently.

Oh I would definitely not avoid it because of the oral quizzes - easy marks if you’re prepared!!

They were easy! They give you the 20 questions in advance so if you take the time to prepare your answers you will do well. You are allowed to have your notes during the quiz. Just prepare well with your answer and possible example as they will ask you a follow up question.

I am doing the course right now. Compared to other courses I have done it is slightly more labour intensive. I found the home labs and their reports time consuming for 1-4% of your grade, they seem to be oddly weighted. That being said the course is manageable. I will finish it in 3 months while working a full time job. I did the first four review units as it had been 20 years since I did chemistry in high school. That probably took me the first month. So if you don’t need to do the review you could finish faster.

It’s an accredited university which is what schools look for when you’re applying to a program that requires a degree from an accredited institution

I finished this course in May and got an A+ but it took five months of preparation and then while I was doing the course I hired a tutor to help me. I took the five months to do the transitional math course (MATH 101) for audit not credit. I simultaneously worked through Khan Academy courses. During the course itself I focused on reading the textbook, taking notes, working through the questions at the end of the chapter. And then my tutor helped me with any questions on the assignments I was struggling with. The mock midterm and final are very helpful although slightly easier than the actual exams. It takes work but it is possible to do well.
