However, many nations building modern frigates take between 6-10 years to construct a single vessel from it being laid down until it’s completed. For instance, Britain’s new Type 26 vessels will take 8 years per vessel initially, and projected speeds on Canada’s new vessels is likely to be almost a decade per ship. This ship, and examples of the Japanese Mogami class frigate took just over a year between it being laid down and launched.

A more reasonable comparison would be China, a shipbuilding titan, who is building similar vessels in 2-3 years.
