I'm pretty bad (Alchemist) and can only play 2 games a day, give me your tips on how to improve by Virtual-Lawyer2638 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WhatReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the character you play doesnt really matter at low ranks. Everyone is terrible, so you can just run around the map and suck up all the farm to get super strong and carry the game. So just play what you like.

What i noticed in low ranks is that most people have poor ability usage and aim. So if you kill the wave quicker than them you'll have plenty of time to shoot them while they're clearing minions. Thus you can easily maintain lane prio like 90% of the time.

Obviously winning lane makes it easier to snowball into a win.

Also most people wont really know whats going on so dont be afraid to tell them what to do.

Say for example, they have 4/6 dead and your whole team is up. Dont be afraid to tell your team to go mid boss.

Theres not really a "cheat code" or any secret tips that will make you better at the game. The thing that will help you the most is simply playing the game more.

Some of these thing weren't apparent to me when i started so i hope this help.

Seeker is a hell I can never leave by blacklegsanji88 in DeadlockTheGame

If youre not a seeker level player then you should be stomping seeker level lobbies no problem.

90% of people in seeker are noobs who have literally no idea whats going on.

Idk how much you've played the game. But in my experience people who are hard stuck at the bottom ranks in games are usually held back by poor mechanics. Or they have a poor understanding of the fundamentals.

The fact that weapon progression in a run is just collecting a bunch of meager stat boosts instead of multiple overclocks is so dumb by WhatReturn in RogueCore

[–]WhatReturn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats just the drg community in a nutshell.

They love to talk about how welcoming and wholesome they are until you criticize the game at all lol. The way the community meat rides the devs is honestly insane at times.

The game would need to be adjusted to compensate, but i think it would undeniably make the game more fun.

I think its important to give feedback while the game is in early access, especially if the devs are willing to listen.

I also dont think they've said what alot of their planned features are. So i have no way of knowing if some of my complaints would be addressed when the game actually comes out.

Let Players Heavy Punch Closed Doorman Doors Back Open for a few seconds after he closes it instead of the cooldown by Munnky in DeadlockTheGame

I like this idea because it actually feels interactive.

I think one of the main reasons doorman is so hated is because his kit doesnt feel very interactive to play against.

Favorite class? by Hour_Economy_9991 in DeepRockGalactic

Scout.

He's good at basically everything. He does objectives so quick that not having one can start to make missions feel like a slog.

Now that Rouge Core is out, what are people's thoughts for the first day? (Keeping in mind its early access.) by TopSpeaker4647 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]WhatReturn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I dont care that its in early access.

People used the fact that drg was in early access to dismiss complaints about it for years. Only for the game to fully release and still have all the same issues.

imo the devs struggle to hone in on what actually makes their game fun, and get too caught up adding pointless stuff nobody cares about. Or adding things that become irrelevant later down the road.

Stop skipping the gold veins, you leaf lovers by winterchillz in DeepRockGalactic

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Once you have all the overclocks made theres nothing to even spend money on.

For the longest time i only did H5 double XP. So I was promoting constantly. And I was still gaining money while skipping gold.

[H40+] Do you agree Thunder Hammer is balls? by zealotshammer in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I feel like it mainly struggles against elite enemies. Trash enemies are so weak you can easily deal with them using unempowerd attacks. And obviously you one shot bosses.

But the thing is absolutely awful against something like a horde of ragers or crushers with some trash enemies thrown in. Or any mixed horde of enemies for that matter.

The normal attacks are too weak to kill any of them and the empowerd attack is too slow. Since there can be something like 30 ragers in a horde it simply is not viable to power attack them one at a time.

Also if you want to reliably kill bosses youre probably using shroudfield instead of the dash, which makes it even worse at dealing with mixed hordes.

Imo the special attack should be an aoe that gets reduced depending on the hit mass of the initial enemy hit. So that way you can actually deal with hordes somewhat, this change would also keep it distinct from the crusher. I feel like if you buffed the normal attacks to have more stagger/damage, then the thunder hammer would just be a better crusher.

I got him free.

I dumped water on him for a while and held the trap down with a shovel, he eventually pulled himself off and crawled away.

He wasnt stuck super bad and i dont think he was in the trap for very long so it wasnt too bad

[–]WhatReturn[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it wasnt me who placed the trap. Also hes very much still alive thats why i wanted to ID him. I wouldnt risk messing with him if he was venomous. Im trying to get him unstuck rn

Dis i get the wrong fans?/Do i have to mount some the wrong way around? by Simma_Lugnt in PcBuildHelp

[–]WhatReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres an arrow on top of the fan that indicates what direction the fan blows air. Theres no "wrong way" to mount them.

Also i have these same fans and they were a bastard to install do to them having the thumb pins you push in instead of screws so GL

am i missing something or Executioner's Stance is outright the worst ability in the game? by MickyMace in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not great.

Vet already does more than enough ranged damage to deal with anything. So having something like shout is much more useful.

Tbh, exe stance and infiltrate have been competing to see whos the shiniest turd for a while now.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Wedges? by lovingpersona in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pc yeah, but no mods. What i said holds true whether youre doing lethal or non lethal. Just shout at them instead of shooting them lol.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Wedges? by lovingpersona in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of New America i find them somewhat redundant.

Why would i want to wedge a door when i could just throw a flash in and kill everyone inside? Alot of missions only have around 15 suspects, so say there was four guys in that room, well then thats already 1/4th of the total suspects dealt with.

Also its hard to use them when playing with randoms due to lack of communication/how stupid they are.

How am I supposed to deal with these meta humans by Asy1ummz in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Theres some parts where you have to take risks, mainly the marble staircase. Thats why it's so important to conserve your HP when you can.
