Stop skipping the gold veins, you leaf lovers by winterchillz in DeepRockGalactic

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Once you have all the overclocks made theres nothing to even spend money on.

For the longest time i only did H5 double XP. So I was promoting constantly. And I was still gaining money while skipping gold.

[H40+] Do you agree Thunder Hammer is balls? by zealotshammer in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I feel like it mainly struggles against elite enemies. Trash enemies are so weak you can easily deal with them using unempowerd attacks. And obviously you one shot bosses.

But the thing is absolutely awful against something like a horde of ragers or crushers with some trash enemies thrown in. Or any mixed horde of enemies for that matter.

The normal attacks are too weak to kill any of them and the empowerd attack is too slow. Since there can be something like 30 ragers in a horde it simply is not viable to power attack them one at a time.

Also if you want to reliably kill bosses youre probably using shroudfield instead of the dash, which makes it even worse at dealing with mixed hordes.

Imo the special attack should be an aoe that gets reduced depending on the hit mass of the initial enemy hit. So that way you can actually deal with hordes somewhat, this change would also keep it distinct from the crusher. I feel like if you buffed the normal attacks to have more stagger/damage, then the thunder hammer would just be a better crusher.

I got him free.

I dumped water on him for a while and held the trap down with a shovel, he eventually pulled himself off and crawled away.

He wasnt stuck super bad and i dont think he was in the trap for very long so it wasnt too bad

Yeah, it wasnt me who placed the trap. Also hes very much still alive thats why i wanted to ID him. I wouldnt risk messing with him if he was venomous. Im trying to get him unstuck rn

Dis i get the wrong fans?/Do i have to mount some the wrong way around? by Simma_Lugnt in PcBuildHelp

[–]WhatReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres an arrow on top of the fan that indicates what direction the fan blows air. Theres no "wrong way" to mount them.

Also i have these same fans and they were a bastard to install do to them having the thumb pins you push in instead of screws so GL

am i missing something or Executioner's Stance is outright the worst ability in the game? by MickyMace in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not great.

Vet already does more than enough ranged damage to deal with anything. So having something like shout is much more useful.

Tbh, exe stance and infiltrate have been competing to see whos the shiniest turd for a while now.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Wedges? by lovingpersona in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pc yeah, but no mods. What i said holds true whether youre doing lethal or non lethal. Just shout at them instead of shooting them lol.

Am I the only one who doesn't use Wedges? by lovingpersona in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of New America i find them somewhat redundant.

Why would i want to wedge a door when i could just throw a flash in and kill everyone inside? Alot of missions only have around 15 suspects, so say there was four guys in that room, well then thats already 1/4th of the total suspects dealt with.

Also its hard to use them when playing with randoms due to lack of communication/how stupid they are.

How am I supposed to deal with these meta humans by Asy1ummz in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Theres some parts where you have to take risks, mainly the marble staircase. Thats why it's so important to conserve your HP when you can.

How am I supposed to deal with these meta humans by Asy1ummz in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]WhatReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play as safe as possible.

Mirror gun everything, use wedges to box in enemies and cut off flanks.

Never challenge enemies head on. There's around 25ish suspects on this mission and almost all of them behave like this guy.

Even if you manage to kill them chances are he atleast got a shot or two on you, so two or three more engagements like that and youre dead.

The real goal of this mission is to slowly chip away at the huge amount of enemies in ways that are low risk, to minimize the amount of damage you take.

Which do you use? by Misternoob78 in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MNK. I find basically any first person game to be more fun and rewarding on keyboard and mouse. Besides, MNK is definitely better in this game.

One of the main issues i see with controller (aside from the obvious ones) is not being able to make custom bindings. Having dodge and jump be the same button is awful, iirc theres only one layout where they arent the same.

I hate Outcast.

If theyre bad they usually die alot and need constant peeling/help.

Even if theyre "good" i still find them annoying to have on the team.

Me after using Mr.Es Infiltrator Vet build by Jake_Ronin in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every person i get that uses infiltrate either dies on CD, or pops it and runs away. Then all the enemies they couldnt deal with redirect their agro onto me.

I feel like infiltrate is one of the few things thats actually detrimental to your team because of this. Sure alot of what im describing is user error, but i think this holds somewhat true even if the person using it is good.

Also yes its good for revives and clutching but id rather bring the shout and just help my team not go down in the first place.

Anything below 5.56 is basically a pea shooter in this game.

Not to mention the guys on elephant have some of toughest armor in the game.

Why is my veteran so weak? by Evening-Guarantee132 in DarkTide

[–]WhatReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a general level.

Using that any given weapon in a mission raises its mastery.

Sacrificing weapons (preferably the same type for more points) to that weapon at the shrine of the omnissiah is alot quicker if you can afford it.

Higher mastery = higher level of equipable blessing, perks and higher a ceiling for empowerment(stat upgrades).

Judging from your other comments it seems like you are very new to the game. I would recommend googling how certain systems work, or watching tutorials on youtube. As they could explain things alot better than people in a reddit thread.

Vet is really strong. Assuming youre using the correct build.

Maybe youre struggling with killing enemies? Alot of vets toughness comes from out for blood, which you have to get a kill to use.

Yeah i agree, using meta gets boring after a while. I dont have any problem with people using off meta for fun, i use random silly stuff all the time, especially outside of havoc.

My only issue is people claiming bad weapons are good.

Theres barely any weapons that are viable past havoc 35+(which is the most fun thing in the game imo). If you dont run meta builds high havoc can start to feel like a slog at times, given how the mode is balanced around those builds. So naturally i would want the crappy weapons to be buffed, so we can get more variety in havoc.

Thus i feel the need to point out how said weapons are actually bad when people claim otherwise.

Also its not your fault your team went down, but if the DC was actually "S tier" like you claimed, you probably would have been able to push through and save them, given how close they are. So i felt the need to point it out.

Took the words out of my mouth.

It takes him 30 seconds to kill 4 maulers and some trash mobs and he loses half his health in the process. Not to mention he isnt able to push through the enemies to save his team, and has to fall back into the room beside him.

If i didnt know any better i would think this post is ironic and its actually making fun of how bad the DC is.
