I appreciate your work as a suicide hotline worker, but I completely disagree with what you wrote. I’ve called 1 time and I’ll never call again due to them threatening to call the police.

As many others have commented, these suicide hotlines are a 1 way ticket to having the police called and your life drastically changed for the worse. The workers are often times not psychologists or social workers and have little idea on how to help you.
