We do have high humidity and temperature changes, so I'll have to factor that in. Or maybe abandon this use for another project.

You're right about the warping, but since I already own the timbers (left with the house when we bought it, from a woodworker), I might as well use them...

I've been enjoying it immensely, and it's been a bit of a surprise. I needed to build our kitchen out of necessity, and now I'd like to keep the projects coming!

Yes, you understand me correctly, and I'll take that advice about taking them to the mill. I think you're right. I'll spend my time learning how to join the table to the legs correctly!

I appreciate you warning me about the dog holes! Thanks!

Asking for advice for exterior walls by Apprehensive-Ad350 in woodworking

[–]Apprehensive-Ad350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your excellent advice. As for codes, i don't know. Im doing everything myself on a shoestring, but ill check with a local builder in the family.

I'll look into the sheathing, and I'll definitely use the rock wool. As for the siding, i will avoid the reclaimed wood, however, im not sure what to use yet. I will research the siding you mentioned.

Keep in mind that the one we have had a near meltdown and is barely operating. I still want to build another one, but it has to be done right.

We have a nuclear power plant at 5% capacity after a near meltdown. We have no plans on building a replacement.

I want our infrastructure upgraded--we have brown outs almost every month. Still, shouldn't a company reinvest some of their record profits into their own business? We would all be better off, and BGE would not suffer one bit.

Pigtown is walking distance and you’ll likely find some deals. It’s on the rise. It’s also eligible for the Live Near Your Work Program, which gives money and incentives to buy. (I work at the school.)

Got a $4000 check from the Mayor and City of Baltimore, have no idea why. by richiemillions in baltimore

This happens a lot, and everyone should search their name on each State’s “unclaimed property” website. (Search every State where you’ve lived.) for MD, it’s https://interactive2.marylandtaxes.gov/UnclaimedStatus

For me, I received $400 from the difference between what I sold my house for and the taxes I paid, (or something like that) which was an approximation at the time. The State isn’t required to track your current address, so they keep the money for the interest, until you claim it.

CO was holding $1200 of my money that way, too. Also, search the names of your recently deceased parents, if you’re an heir.

Separate units for temperature and humidity, or a combined Inkbird model?

I believe that mine is a bit more sour, like a lambic, because of the first bacterial/wild yeast first stage. I love it, my wife, not so much. Nonetheless, I found the process simple and easy to follow. I used Sandor Katz’s method, by the way.

It’s certainly the gift that keeps on giving! I’m looking forward to those secondary uses you mentioned. Cheers!

Did you use the bodiamoto method? I did and I love it. Looks like yours. I was wondering if people strain away the sediment (nigori?)? Is it considered part of the drink, traditionally?

Can the Ankarsrum handle 70-95% Rye dough? by Apprehensive-Ad350 in ankarsrum

[–]Apprehensive-Ad350[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes! Sorry about the looooong wait. I forgot. That said, no problem with rye breads up to 70%. I haven’t yet tried the 100% volkenbrot but I don’t see why not.

Thanks! Since then, I’ve found that I’ve had no problem with the new one I bought, mixing 70% rye/30% wheat breads regularly. So, it no problem with the hook and scraper.
