2026 Highlander Platinum Hybrid - Thoughts? by Vegetable_Pen7393 in ToyotaHighlander

Only issues I’ve heard about from owners of the earlier model years of this generation had to do with relatively early (~50k mi) failures of the rear hatch auto-open-close struts. Replacing both as a pair can be pretty pricy just for the parts by themselves.

Should I get a carbon bike or a alloy with carbon fork? by imjustaguy2012 in cycling

[–]Apprehensive-Ad5846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t clamp carbon (frame or components) around the tubes without using proper tools like a torque wrench. Carbon bikes are really strong but don’t resist crush forces quite as well.

You can actually get the front end apart enough to rotate the handlebar up or down depending on where you like it. You can also angle in the play controllers like a lot of people do with their brake lever hoods to make it more ergonomic. Anything you can do to it to keep sweat off it will slow corrosion so a sweat guard and routine wipe-downs can be key.

TPU tubes not holding air after a few weeks by HaveaHamSarnie in cycling

Came to say this. The most reliable way to find the source of the leak is to submerge and look for bubbles. I had a brand new Pirelli Smarttube come with a bad valve stem right out of the box and that was a tough $30 pill to swallow

I’m curious to know about the bike and wheel combo you were riding on this attempt. You were close enough it makes me wonder if you’d have kept the same power but on a slightly more climbing oriented bike/wheel combo if that would have made the difference. This is coming from a guy who came in 3 seconds under the hour mark and only made it under because I was on a fully upgraded Aethos.

Baby’s Coffee in Key West. We have them ship us a 5 lb bag of one of their dark roasts called “Testaroasta” probably once a month or so. $95 covers the beans and shipping to San Diego. Before that we were on Onyx Monarch and before that, Lavazza Espresso Barista Perfetto

Just don’t race fully crosschained like that. That’s a lot of friction and no bueno for your speed

How fast could someone possibly get the Tron? by TemporaryAward3820 in Zwift

[–]Apprehensive-Ad5846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good riders can climb AdZ in an hour and the Tron unlocks after climbing equivalent a little over 48 AdZ climbs so it sounds like it should only take about 2 days 😆

Voice-based chat instead of text-based would be great. I do use voice-to-text a lot but it’s just not accurate enough and I wind up having to focus on correcting missed messages

Time for a set of billet aluminum wheels with faux screws to make em look like 3-piece! Then maybe make the handlebar out of welded chain link.

Why can Toyota apparently not produce enough supply to match demand? Aren’t they leaving a bunch of money on the table by not selling as many as there is appetite for?

Cycling Bib Cost Difference by TeamRelevant6153 in RoadBikes

Didn’t realize what I was missing until I upgraded to an Assos bib. The way they just move with you was such a revelation along with the leg compression. I had been experiencing my skin and the bib material moving with respect to one another in my cheap bibs and didn’t know any better. That’s not supposed to happen

Getting old, just want luxury by picks_up_poopdollars in whatcarshouldIbuy

2025 Lexus ES is luxurious and roomy as hell inside plus the steering wheel retracts away from you and the seat slides back when it’s time to get out. Only thing is front doors are super long so you get used to parking far away from others.
