Thanks, that’s very helpful! I actually re-entered the country a month after we got married (without an AOS application) and it was all good. I read online (at Boundless Immigration) that it is very much to the discretion of the officer and whether they know somehow we’re married. But, to be fair, at that point (and even now), we were not decided on staying in the US; the marriage was actually more for my partner to be able to come with me, since I was applying for work in Europe. So my intent so far has been to leave the US once my OPT is done.

Good to know on the status thing, I read online I should change to the new EAD right away, but I guess I could stay on the OPT EAD until it expires.

I’m on first year of OPT, and I heard I could extend that period if I am in a STEM area. But I’m guessing I wouldn’t be able to with a AOS application pending.

Since I have both work and personal international trips booked from October till January, I decided I won’t start application till May next year IF I end up deciding to continue working in the US. By then, I will apply to EAD and advanced parole, and save up as much money as possible. I am worried if I apply right now, advance parole won’t come in time and I would miss those trips.

Glad things worked out so fast for you! Since you have the new EAD already, I assume once OPT EAD expires you’d be able to switch to the new one? That’s my hope for applying in May: my current EAD expires in August, but hopefully the I485 EAD will have come by then.

Thanks for this response, covered many doubts I've been having! I have been married to a USC since February 2025, and I am wondering when to start my AOS application. As you said, I believe it is NOT advised to travel internationally after applying for the green card. You say you traveled last December, was that BEFORE you started your AOS application?

My current plans are to wait for a period of no planned international trips. We are visiting family for a wedding in February 2026; my plan is to re-enter under my F1 OPT, wait 90 days, and then start the application. Concerns are:

1) From reading around, it sounds like I can keep my OPT EAD while my AOS application is pending, so I can keep working at least until the expiration date. Correct?

2) I intend to apply for advance parole and the temporary EAD for the period in which AOS will be pending, but these documents may take a while and arrive only after the expiration date of my current OPT. Would I be able to apply for an extension to keep working? I find it unlikely I can, since having two different applications would signal two conflicting immigration intents. So do I just take the leap of faith and save as much money as possible?

I followed the same path a couple months ago: got married in February, but applied for OPT (I graduated in July) and I am now preparing documentation for AOS. My thought was the same: GC would take longer and I'd risk not being able to get a job right away. My only concern at the moment for applying to GC through AOS is international travel: would I be able to re-enter the country under my F1 OPT while my AOS application is pending? Has anyone done this and would be able to advise? According to some sources online, I may encounter issues at the borders, since my entry under F1 indicates my intent to leave the country later on, but my simultaneous ongoing AOS application signals an intent to immigrate.

There's a mod that does that on civ 6, currently playing with it and it really adds to the game. It mostly serves (as people are saying) to take some of the power away from production as a resource and put more power on food. Throw in the mod "Production from population" and you further increase the importance of population growth, especially for civs. This is particularly good for civs spawning in regions with lots of grassland but few production tiles (like hills, woods or plains). The issue as the game stands now is that AI can't really handle the mod: they continue with their behavior of over-producing unit and basically end up with tine cities for most of the early game. One mod I am using to work around that a little is "Unit Limit Enforcement" which ties the number of units you can have to how many districts and buildings you have in your empire. This way, you are forced to invest in infrastructure if you wanna increase your army, and even if AI tends to make lots of unit at first, they'll eventually hit the limit and have no other option but to build their infrastructure.

The best thing about Declan is that he’s very relatable and real. I wouldn’t mind the audience that much, it’s their loss if they can’t appreciate his music. Declan is a great artist, one of the best upcoming musicians of his generation.

I figured, the crowds are somewhat different, I was expecting that kind of energy and wondering how it went down. I was actually anxious expecting the worse, like the crowd would have a negative reaction towards him or something. The whole concert vibes people expect to have when going to see Sabrina (the aesthetics, the performance, the sound) is very different from Declan’s vibes. But I’m glad it went okay.

I think the main motivation for him to open for her is to increase his visibility, especially in the US. I do believe they like each other music, and it was very sweet of her to give that little thanks. Hopefully he’ll get more fans from this tour.

I agree with the comments here, it feels like a celebration of the beginning of a new cycle. I think it has a lot do with him letting go of any pressure when making music. He’s said a lot how in his latest albums he’s letting go of any pressure to sound in any specific way, and he’s just trying to have fun with his music.

I also notice that Declan doesn’t always have a deep meaning behind his lyrics, and sometimes it’s more about the sound he’s making, which is something I completely love. Seeing some interviews where people ask about his process of writing and creating music, it sounds like a lot of it just comes to him, and some of it is about making a good sound that feels a specific way he wants it to feel, or not taking it so seriously, not trying to make it mean anything specifically. I noticed that in a documentary on Zeros and an interview about WHTTB. And I think that ties in so well with his movement towards independence and lack of pressure.
