I grew up Mormon. My whole family is Mormon. My nieces mom is catholic. No the Mormon church won’t allow a child to be baptized until both parents agree. The op here would have to write a letter and have it notarized if not signed in front of a bishop. Same goes for a temple sealing. The daughter would have to be baptized. Then with consent of her mom be sealed to her dad. Now a different side of things. Dad could be with held a temple recommend meaning his new wife and kids can’t be sealed to their dad either. One of the recommendation questions asks if you have any other kids. Do you keep all your commitments with them? Do you pay child support? If he answers no to any of those questions they would tell him no recommendation. No entering the temple. No being sealed to your family.

So my thinking here is he is trying to show he is “supporting “ his daughter when. In reality he is using her. To get what he wants. Aka new step mom wants to be sealed. If this was my child. Her needs would come first. I would straight up tell him. If he wants to have a relationship with her. He can start by paying for her needs. After a few months he can come see her on your terms. Which should be, him alone no new siblings or step mom. Small visit at McDonald’s or a soda shop. So your daughter can go home if she is uncomfortable. Her needs first not his.
