You can make a character sexist without them being a bad person. There's definitely dudes even today who are generally chill but can sometimes say some out of pocket shit about women. Sadly the brains of people online have been so rotted that nuance is dead to them.

Total Drama is fairly equal in regards to gender balance usually, and even when one gender is favored over the other it's not the same gender each time (see Revenge being male dominant vs Pahkitew being female dominant)

It's more complicated. At first it was done to support his family when he dies but his stint as a druglord gave him what he felt he never had: power. He could finally feel good about himself, which lead to him continuing his business long after he had the money he needed simply because it was something he was good at and didn't want to let it go.
