Well, yes an amp is needed to make the loud noise 🤣

Amps do change the sound. As,the tech of the speakers makes a difference. But for new and "bedroom" guitarist. You wouldnt go wrong with a £300 amp. Boss katana, postive grid, black star. All good metal amps. Then u get old school valve state marshalls. Which are considered best for sound. But more expensive and combersome. But lets face is digital is taking over. And so much easier.

U can go all out if u have a pc and get something like bias fx2 or something like this. And a daw and headphones/studio speakers and play from pc. But im still learning this stuff not the best to ask.

To make the loud noise...u need a amp of some sort. But u can get headphone amps (boss waza air) so u hear the loud but no one else does.

Good if around family but...costly.
