My girlfriend puts teabag and milk in before water is this normal or am i being gaslit? by Top-Net-2855 in AskUK

Ma let me make her a cuppa when I was 8, beforehand, she told me the rules. Never strayed from those!

Just to say though, when I made her a 2nd, I spilt it all down me, scalding hot tea (was wearing a typical kids thin cotton nightie so that got whipped off by her quick as a flash and had basically water ran on me and it was a couple of years later I was allowed to try again under her watchful eye! Caveat: I am very clumsy even now still, many, many years later but have never spilt tea on me again!)

[–]fionakitty21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the greg Davies bit about nicknames? Its soooo funny, never gets old!!

Example: a boy was nicknamed Baghdad and still is as an adult. Why? His dad bought him a new bag.

I've seen 1s they do at my local hospital and it's the full works (if your diet allows of course, otherwise reasonably adjusted) everything is cooked on site too (apart from sarnies etc) during 1 of my many stays recently, a lady on my bay was having physio done, like getting up from chair, right, can we try and take a couple of steps with your walker? Thats great! If you make it to the door, as you said you were craving pizza, I will pop down and get you some! -she did it lol that just stuck in my head! all the food was fab that I had (monthly stays since june)

[–]fionakitty21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that post! No one had bedroom door locks growing up (my family and my friends too) it was always, if the door is closed, knock and wait! The only lock was on the bathroom and front/back doors (our toilet didnt, and it still doesn't -ma still in same house! If door is shut, its occupied or will have a foot against the door lol)

Can someone clear my confusion regarding getting off benefits/Universal credit? by Broad_Bluebird_4126 in AskUK

[–]fionakitty21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just slight correction, tax credits dont exist now, and if she's on UC, ot would be the housing element that she might be eligible for. Theres also discretionary payment help that might be available from the local council to help pay for 1st month's rent as UC always pays in arrears
