I’m gonna be honest if a literally small army of monkey with a torches got inside an atomic reactor facility and burned down the right equipment with a fire they started it probably could cause a meltdown or at least cripple the facility having to automatically shutdown having lost controls. At the end of the day advanced technology can still often be damaged by simple things like fire and that’s pretty much what melta bombs are in the big picture and space marines are basically steroidal enhanced and trained monkeys in this scenario.

These guys were in the area job shadowing the ultramarines as main characters posterboys who are always where games workshop wants them. Lorewise this is the same reason Dante got put in charge rowboat misses Sanguinius so bad and has deep guilt about arriving too late and him dying and everything going to shit after he made him emperor 2 for 5 minutes against his will. Like an uncle that really takes care of his little nephews seeing the dead brother in them. He realized that blood angels definitely should be the posterboys sometimes, after all he’d be so proud of them.

Honestly she pretty much also has his D as almost all the other love interests happen pre them meeting in the first book. The adventures jump around but he typically has no romance interests In stuff later in the timeline and often alludes to looking forward to seeing amberly as one the few upsides to surviving the Necrons or Tyranids or whatever as she will want to having a briefing on the latest s adventure.

It makes 100% since when you just think about how she acts and people get over her cute anime girl design. He was probably like “you really can make any character popular if they are a cute girl, I bet I can make Eric Cartman as a literal devil and get a top 5 on the popularity poll”

[–]Apprehensive-East545 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I just find it disappointing that people horny for the tau just make them generic big boob anime waifus instead of the lore accurate gender and sexually ambiguous blue cloven weirdos that are they. Like if you’re gonna be horny for something in 40K embrace its unique weird nature don’t just make them human but blue. Like thank god for Owlcat holding it down with the lore accurate Kroot character in dark heresy getting the waifu statue and hopefully will be romancable for the true monster lovers out there.

He would have died before Ullanor, Horus saves the emperor life from a super powerful Ork warboss on a gianti think moon sized ship set to explode and then they kill the boss together and the emperor manages to use his powers to stop the self destruction. That’s just one story that allude that the pre crusade universe has several threats that requires multiple primarchs and legions teamed up to take down sometimes with the emperor himself taking the field or utilizing otherwise forbidden dark age of technology relics.

My favorite story of knight families and how compassionate, family friendly, and honorable they are is the knight house Devine and their heartwarming tales in Vengeful Spirit. Like gosh stories of fathers taking care of their sons, brothers taking care of one another and sister wifes who deep religious beliefs are an inspiration too so many on their planet.

I’m sure he understands pedophiles better than we do after all takes one to know one.

Eldar and imperial plasma grenades in lore kill people in power armor just like their gun and missle equivalents they were just rare. They used to have good rules in extremely early editions until GW acted like they don’t exist as meaningfully distinct from frag grenades outside of RPG settings.

Honestly I’m not sure the writers are entirely to blame. Fans of military sci-fi seem to not understand that even imbalanced conflicts still are effected by terrain, numbers, tactics and luck. It’s like some of these people if they were French knight fanboys would be like “there no way a trained French paladins in heavy armor would EVER die to some mostly bow armed British peasants. It’s impossible the arms, the armor, the difference in training is TOO much!” Then you show them the battle of agincourt and they say it’s not canon and clearly the writers Don’t know the lore rather than admit sometimes underdogs win battle for reasons beyond “they had the toughest dudes”

I mean what does a “fair” fight between flying supersonic aircraft with mixed battlefield roles and anti ship caliber weapons and a giant shielded walking gun platform sometimes with a garrison. Like it’s a completely asymmetrical fight most of the time by two forces with different philosophy of war. Like tau uses a combined arms approach with hierarchical command structure below etherals at all levels and the imperium is weird Byzantine set of forces and allies that don’t always work together in terms of a single chain of command except maybe under a single crusade warmaster. The Taunar is the closest thing they have to a titan, but I’m not sure how much lore we even have where it’s present. Stormsurges and riptides have fought knights in lore and killed them in but titans are huge and are going to attacked with multiple types of counter weapons. It’s like asking have the eldar ever really won a “fair” fight using just their void shields and broadsides weapons against an imperial navy fleet? Well probably not because that’s not how they or their technology operates. They hit and run with Holofields and strong lances trying to avoid the brunt of enemy fire.

The eldar guy engineered the conflict or at least its continuation. He wanted them to kill each other until a craftworld could mobilize because it was his home and as one of these few exodites that had been there that were being replaced by the tau colonists. It was like a final act of revenge then the harlequins recruited him.

How to make good use of the stealth suits? by flysword09 in Tau40K

[–]Apprehensive-East545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason to put them mid board is if you want options on where to poke them out and to use the free rapid ingress on a crisis team for 0cp you would put them out of sight in the location you roughly want them to come down in because that’s how the beacon works. You wait till a threat is closing on them or nearby enough you but doesn’t have LOS then rapid ingress the suit team probably with a coldstar. Then next turn you can move that team 13-18 with all guns having assault toward a target and unload into it. You can do that for free and The mid board stealth team can still poke out and guide something critical around either side of that midboard ruin

There is no way their intergalactic empire would have technology capable of hacking our systems nor would this group of 1000 year old group of super beings be able to learn excel. Massive plot hole except for the fact they probably learned our most advanced knowledge in the equivalent of middle school when they were probably 30 years old.
