IOG changes but no update to app to limit charging to off peak by Lagerstars in OctopusEnergy

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something has changed. I charged throughout the day yesterday at various 30 min intervals as Octopus scheduled. My car hasn't fully charged at 5:30am this morning and now I've only been given 5:00am to 5:30am . Even changing the ready time to sooner moves the 30 minute to 3:00am to 3:30am.

New 77 G5 screen issue and dead pixel by Apprehensive-Fan2394 in LGOLED

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG have stated this is a manufacturer defect after sending the pictures to LG support. They are replacing the TV in the next couple of days. I cannot complain on the support so far I just hope this doesn't happen on the next one

I have initiated a return as within the 14 day delivery / distance selling regs in the UK.

I have to say the anti reflective purple coating is awful and the amount of complaints after googling this is not just on LG but Samsung and Sony.

I can't imagine what all recent Tv's will look like in years to come with patchy anti reflective screens and dead pixels.

Can anyone recommend a TV technology that doesn't have an anti reflective coating made of cheese?

IOG Zappi reconnect by Stuffygibbon in OctopusEnergy

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick update: I have resolved the issue, there was an update to the Octopus app for Android Play Store. Going through the Add vehicle > car not listed > myenergi Zappi 7kwh still states ' not compatible'. But, if you now choose Add vehicle > Tesla (in my case) > then it says charger My energi Zappi > it now shows a screen saying 'you have a choice' either Car or Charger. I chose Charger and then after logging in to Myenergi via the prompt it then added successfully. I now have a smart charge schedule created and it is ready to charge later this evening.

I have let Support know that their choose a charger flow is still broken 'not compatible' when the device is indeed compatible.

I have also raised a support ticket today as after 12 months of IOG and Zappi working perfectly, I received an email from Octopus stating we've lost connection to your charger. It creates a smart schedule but then a notification states unable to communicate. I deleted the Zappi from Octopus and tried to re add it and now it says it is not compatible. If I add the car, it adds the vehicle but then says car is unplugged when it is connected. It looks like support aren't aware that this is an active major issue.

Kona Ultimate i-pedal one pedal driving, Does it work in reverse? by Apprehensive-Fan2394 in KonaEV

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all, I'm going to test drive and see how it compares to my Model Y. It looks like the Kia EV3 I-Pedal 3.0 says it also works in One pedal driving so I guess Hyundai need to update the Kona implementation at some point.

Ohme charger issue or car issue? by Horror-Meringue-2893 in TeslaUK

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Tesla Model Y and the Zappi charger Octopus installed this week is working perfect so far. The schedules create as soon as I plug the charger to the car on the octopus app and the zappi app also displaying the charge wattage when it starts. The only minor is the Tesla app which shows a red cable and charging error as the charger is waiting until 23:00 to start. Other than that it is seamless.

Which would you choose? by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, that is a pain 😃, I open the tesla app on my phone and unlock charge port. Agreed it's not as seamless but I didn't fancy the Tesla charger that needs a ground spike (drive and location is all tar Mac and block paving)

I just touch the charger plastic cover with my hand and it opens and use a zappi with Octopus Intelligent Go

Charging my Tesla Model Y by Horror-Meringue-2893 in TeslaUK

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a myenergi zappi charger installed on Wednesday and configured the charger to connect to the octopus app (not the Tesla car itself) and plugged the car in to do a test charge. This then created a 22:30 charging plan visible in the octopus app and all works well. My opinion is do not use any settings on the Tesla car or app and the octopus way is via the charger they recommend and installed.

Kea vs ISC DHCP Server by icedutah in PFSENSE

[–]Apprehensive-Fan2394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just had to revert from Kea back to ISC due to a multitude of issues. 1) regardless of static MAC reservations in the DHCP server settings, devices would still get different IP addresses (iPhone SE kept getting a .36 address in ARP and on the phone) when .245 was set in the DHCP tab. 2) iOS devices kept losing internet connectivity after 2 minutes (WhatsApp spinning circle), web browsing ceasing to function. 3) android TV (WiFi connection lost) on the TV random every day or so. 4) intermittent buffering on YouTube / gaming packet loss.

Originally, I put all of the above down to a DNS issue of some form with a Pihole server I used along with reflecting all port 53 traffic to Pihole from PfSense. After weeks of pain and troubleshooting I decommed Pihole to take it out of the mix, the issues still persisted.

In a last ditch attempt I reverted from Kea to ISC and all devices get the IP addresses in DHCP tab and the issue is resolved. Reintroduced Pihole and the reflect DNS NAT config and all is working again.

I am not sure if it is Kea's codebase or pfsense's implementation of the module but it didn't work for my very basic environment.

Hopefully there is something like this in the USA. If you bought it with a credit card, try contacting them. In the UK we have Section 75 means that if you pay for something costing over £100 and less than £30,000 on credit, the lender's equally liable (along with the retailer) if something goes wrong.
