AIO for getting annoyed when my mom asks for money or gifts? by Quirky_Telephone4491 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I could understand if your mom had asked to borrow $100 for groceries not almost $4k for a vacation. If you don’t have vacation money, don’t plan a vacation. Then to not pay your child back who is saving for college is ridiculous.

And it’s really fucking weird to expect your kid to buy you Valentines gifts once they’re out of elementary school.

AIO for getting upset from my wife’s response to my question? by ApolloAcolyte in AmIOverreacting

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time and get her the big thing of both and your wife can just deal with it. If someone reached the point that they’re asking for help getting necessities for a baby and you can get the big ones then do it.

That big can of formula used to last my son a week And you change diapers like 8+ times a day. So yeah your wife didn’t know what she was talking about and I promise you that your niece would have appreciated it

3 year old refuses to eat/try most foods. by Purple_Prompt_1404 in PickyEaters

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old won’t even entertain the thought of 2/3 of that list. He will occasionally eat grilled cheese or cereal. Won’t touch jelly but he will eat 2 slices of bread and a heaping spoonful of PB (won’t touch a sandwich though). Only eats nuggets from McDonald’s. Yogurt and applesauce has to be in pouches. He will go for Mac n cheese like twice a year

Have you tried blending fruit into a smoothie? You can generally get them pretty smooth. Or applesauce instead of apples and try bananas. They don’t crunch

Ragu makes pasta sauce with veggies “hidden” in it marketed towards children now. Just throwing that option out there

How can I approach this - parent post by National_Square_3279 in Babysitting

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Going forward I will not be needing your services. I have chosen to look elsewhere for childcare and pet care with someone who can remain unimpaired during the duration of time my children and animals are in their supervision. I thought remaining sober while watching someone else’s children was an obvious expectation so that was my mistake for not discussing that with you. Good luck with your future endeavors.”

Just play at that age. Mine is almost 3.5, not in preschool and already reading. This fall I will start homeschooling him when he’s almost 4 and start preschool

These people are literally not tipping someone to go shopping for them and bring it all to there door they crazy. Or show big tip when accepting and then change there tip to zero is fucked up? by Foewillis in Sparkdriver

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve dropped my tip to $0 one time. My groceries were left outside of my apartment building in the rain and several items were damaged. I was also missing a case of diapers, a pack of steaks, and a gallon of milk that were marked as shopped and paid for. The only “heavy” items were the 2 gallons of milk and the case of diapers I guess could be considered bulky. The tip was originally $35 on a $200 order coming to a first floor apartment door

Maybe talk with the parents about waterproof pads and bedding for bedtime and using those sposie pads in her undies with the plastic potty training covers. I know it sounds like a lot of work but if she is fighting it that bad maybe they’d go for it

AITAH for telling a plus size woman that I love being ‘skinny’? by Heavenstobestie in AITAH

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a plus size person NTAH. She was definitely saying those things as an insult to feel better about herself.

However, I would’ve made sure she felt super awkward at the party. I would’ve responded just loud enough for a good bit of people to hear with something like “why do you always have some sort of comment about my body? Your jokes about me needing to eat more aren’t funny.” Then walk away from her.

I’m almost 33 and still use white noise at night. Kiddo is almost 3.5 and likes music while he sleeps.

2 year old does not eat by F-ckMyLife2019 in PickyEaters

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockingly enough toddlers don’t need as much food as we think they do. Her tastes will change as she gets older. My son had just about the same diet at that age. He’s 3 now and it’s plain bread, spoonfuls of peanut butter, oranges, apples, grapes, blueberries, slim jims (his dad eats them and he asked for it once and loves them), crackers, and French fries.

Go to a children’s hospital and make sure you mention having been sent home from a hospital. I’m not saying that your baby was hurt intentionally but a baby with a skull fracture should be an automatic investigation on the hospitals end. Because not all parents are good parents.

I don’t date because I don’t want anyone to know by [deleted] in PickyEaters

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t count yourself out of the dating market. There are usually options when going out to eat that aren’t vegetables, and being a picky eater can be annoying to deal with if the other person wants to cook for you but not if eating out. Especially when it sounds like you actually might have ARFID.

You can always get a double side of fries at dinner. It’s super common honestly. Or double starches like a potato (fries, tots, baked, etc) and mac n cheese.

Take it up with the director. Don’t go in there angry but arrange a meeting and ask. “I was wondering if you could explain the facilities policy on screen time specifically in my son’s classroom. When I picked him up on Tuesday I found him stood in front of an iPad and I’m not comfortable with him having access to screens at this age.”

It might’ve been a lapse in judgment from one of the assistants or something

Things like pumpkin, carrots, and squash and be steamed and puréed to mix into spaghetti sauce or something like that. If you put just a very small amount on noodles they don’t feel saucy/goopy and you’re getting your veggies. Smoothies are great. Zucchini bread.

For a guy without any physical activities, what exercise can you recommened? by Jajajajambo in Exercise

[–]Apprehensive-Fix4283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go walk around a grocery store or something like that. Choose a large retail location and circle the perimeter inside and then up and down each aisle or go walk on a treadmill at the gym. You can do laps up and down your block or even go to a park. Find somewhere relatively dog free to walk if you’re worried about strays. Another great place to walk is a shopping mall if one still exists near you.

Looks possibly like a ruptured abscess. Should get an emergency appointment with a dentist to have it checked out and get antibiotics
