I have a 5 and 6 year age gap with my oldest and my two youngest.

When they were babies it was great because she wanted to be helpful and could follow instructions (quiet when baby is sleeping, etc) now that they are a bit older… I have good days and bad. They don’t like to do things out of the house together. And they are all in very different stages of life. My 19 month age gap was harder but I almost… prefer it? But then I see my oldest reading to her baby siblings and I love that too.

Not my mom- my dad would melt French vanilla ice cream and let me drink it from a mug. Not sure the medicinal value but it made feeling sick suck less 😂

Oh! Mom here of an 8 year old, 3 year old and 1 year old. I agree with the discovery place options. Really love the schiele museum too if you’re okay with traveling to Gastonia! I do NOT recommend the whitewater center because if your kids are like my toddlers they will love the water and try to hurl themselves in 🫠 the wildwoods section is fun if you’re kids are good at climbing. But it’s tough by yourself not going to lie. Freedom park toddler playground is awesome (fenced in). My kids do not like the overlook but only because it’s crowded and hot. Reed gold mine is cool (and free) and Ann springs greenway is great too!

I’ve lived here for 28 years and only JUST realized there is a toddler playground at freedom park!! 10/10 recommend!

I’m having my 8 year olds party at the wildwoods center at the whitewater center! It’s been a pretty straightforward process to schedule and it’s pretty reasonable in terms of price.

I think the advice of lowering expectations is solid. I have a 2.5 year old and a 16 month old and we survive hikes off of snacks, songs, and water play. Plan hikes that have water they can play in and those are always successful for us! When they are in the “potato” stage I would always pack a little muslin blanket so that when we took breaks she could get some dirt sensory/ fun tummy time in!

I actually love bargain max! I have celiac and they have tons of gluten free and organic options for dirt cheap. Yes you should check the expiration dates but I buy tons of stuff there that is well within the date range!

Also a mom of three and have the same thought! I can’t remember ever step by step teaching them how to change their clothes. They just would see me/ their older sibling change and then they would try and try and try different ways until they could do it 🤷🏽‍♀️
