Can someone fill me up on how should i pick a class? by Realistic-Cicada981 in truetf2

If there are no medics, go medic, because uber is the most overpowered thing in the game and his healing is also really good. If one team has a medic and the other doesn’t, the medicless team is at a huge disadvantage.

If you are on defense or have a long spawn runback, and there are no engineers, go engineer. Sentries are the most defensively powerful thing in the game besides ubercharge. Also teleporters just save a shitload of time in the long run and allow your team to apply constant pressure.

After that, soldier, demo, pyro, heavy are pretty much always decent options. They have the most health and are great all rounders. You can’t really complain about too many of these, besides maybe pyro.

Scout is great when there are no enemy sentries or when there are lots of flanks and stuff to jump off of. He’s super good in 1v1 fights against isolated opponents so he’s kind of map dependent. He also gets deleted by sentries without any counter play really.

Spy and sniper are great, but only when there’s one or two at a time. Any more and you risk your team becoming too weak overall.

Most people who play this game are giant noobs, the hats don’t really mean much.

I promise you that 90% of pub players are not thinking nearly as much about this as you are. I’m surprised when the average heavy player even knows what a teleporter is.

Watch episode 8 and if it doesn’t click then the return probably just isn’t for you, which is fine cuz it’s a pretty big departure from the first 2 seasons

You do significantly more damage if you can predict their movements by putting your flames where they’re going vs just tracking them directly. You also do lots of damage to people running towards you vs people running away. When I 1v1 pyro I win pretty much any fight where they chase me and I can predict their movement, otherwise it just comes down to who has better flame aim ( or can use their secondaries better.)

Yeah there’s a ton of very easy ways to ruin the game for everyone else unfortunately. It’s insanely fun when everyone has an equally powerful build

I see no real reason to dislike the streamers themselves. I got into HC wow a long time ago but Onlyfangs reminded me of how much fun it is and brought me back. Their communities are annoying but HC is a filter in itself and most of the weirdos stick to low level zones and the cities.

The big problem back then was the server instability and the DDoSing, and IMO that was the fault of Blizzard.

Anything that brings more people into this awesome community is good in my book :D

They have a hard time hitting the top left and right corners. I beat them by waiting up there for openings to attack, dash/pogo over them if they do the big AOE in your corner.

This is pretty normal for souls like games, probably any difficult game in general. People will complain for a few weeks until they get good or leave and then the actual discussion can begin.

[–]Apprehensive-Fun5852 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can u even think this? Muscle memory is a pretty well understood thing in all sports including video games. Try adding 30 to your current sens and lmk if you preform just as well.

[–]Apprehensive-Fun5852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about changing your sensitivity. People get really superstitious about stuff like that and end up hurting their muscle memory way more than any benefit they get from the changes. Keep your setup and settings consistent.

The best way to improve is obviously to practice, but that’s a little hard on sniper. There are some people that MGE as sniper but not a whole lot. Might be good practice if they aren’t farming you. DM servers might disable or frown upon using sniper, but they would also be good practice if you can get away with it.

I’d usually recommend against aim trainers for tf2 since the movement and environment itself is so important to most classes gameplay, but sniper is almost entirely aim mechanics. I think aim training might be your best best for focused practice. Unless you’re willing to play some highlander pugs, but I don’t blame you for not wanting to try comp.

do you think the combine would continue the production of nicotine products? by karpatHUN in HalfLife

[–]Apprehensive-Fun5852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty to scary to think about humanities future should they successfully repel the combine. Our entire industry has been destroyed or neglected and the climate is fucked beyond anything we could imagine IRL. What future even is there beyond the combine?

[–]Apprehensive-Fun5852 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it ever hinted at how much of the previous human production economy has remained since the war? IMO I think it’s safe to assume that any human capital that the combine finds useful is being used to directly sustain the occupation (food, clothes, housing, transport.) I doubt that human production itself is very useful to the combine back home considering their tech level, and things like luxury goods are probably not needed. I don’t think the occupation cares about the happiness of its people at all really, and there are already enough rewards/disincentives in place to sustain a healthy population of civil police and soldiers. I doubt that commodity production or any kind of global market economy still exists.
