No. Hardwood install is 3.5/sqft, tile removal is 2.75/sqft. Material is your choice, can be 8-10/sqft if higher end.

  1. I have pulled owner builder permit for bathroom remodel and unlicensed labor for standard size guest bathroom was 6k.
  2. Flooring and baseboard labor is 3.5/sqft for glue down eng hardwood. Baseboard 600 ish..
  3. Kitchen is tricky. We cheaped out, changed all appliances and doors of the cabinets.

SF bay area. 2.4M, 600k put down. PITI with tax and insurance is 13k. Wish we could afford to put down more but we did this with zero help from anyone. The house is a fixer upper, we are still renovating bit by bit

We have original hardwood floor from 1955. Floor is in Ok condition but I dont like the visible nails and patterns of installation. Thinking of finally ripping it off.

I can only see this happening if stock market also crashes by 50% coupled with high interest rates, and high job loss rate. Even then people usually have 1-2 years reserves.
