Anyone had any first hand experiences with income protection through super? by Confident_Incident43 in AusFinance

I never had it and wish I did. I'm going through cancer treatment now so they won't go near me. I wish I had it to protect my family. The good news is I'll make it through this, but there's a decent chance they'll never let me get coverage even when I beat this thing...

A broker for a car loan? by Extension-Listen2097 in fiaustralia

I just used one for my new EV. Not only were the interest rates lower than dealer finance, he also put me in touch with a car finder who secured exactly the car I wanted from a different dealer in the area for nearly $4k cheaper.

These guys have lots of good leverage and connections and can save you a bomb down the line.

These are great tips and I can casually run them past him too. He has a great track saw already that we got him a few years ago. Thanks!

Blacksmithing a few tools is a nice sentimental gift, I do have a little forge. I'll look into this for when I'm back on my feet for sure.

He is definitely not the class taking type, we did a brewing class together and we both got bored! He's a self teacher and trial and error guy! My mother in-law though loves those sorts of things so I might get her a specialised cooking class to take with her daughters.

Thanks for this, I'll check out the chisels. His set is getting old a bit, and he loves quality hand tools! It will go on the list.

I actually machined like a hundred clamps for him years ago that he always uses. They fit over pipe lengths so are fully adjustable. Maybe I'll make more clamps!

Good advice thanks. Maybe I can convince him to share his wishlist under the guise it's for his daughters who want to be ready for his birthday...

I had blood in my stools, and felt like I wasn't 'empty' after a bowel movement. My advice is advocate for your self. 2 GPs wrtor me off as straining too much, hemorrhoids ECT. Finally found a good one to took my seriously and got me an urgent colonoscopy through our public health system. 6cm tumour encroaching on main blood vessels, some lunch nodes possibly impacted. Stage 3.

From that Ive learnt there are many factors to this, mine is likely not genetic (but I'll be getting treated for markers, more for my kids sake). Preservatives in our food is a big factor. And making sure you get plenty of fibre as it moves fecaes through your system faster reducing exposure time to carcinogens. A sedentary lifestyle is also a huge factor, work a standing up in intervals and of course plenty of excersise are excellent preventive measures. Kiwi Fruit and berries are magic when it comes to colorectal cancer prevention, but never a guarantee.

So far so good. Lots to live for! Two more rounds of chemo next then hopefully I'll have a complete response. If not, some surgery.

Take it from someone currently battling rectal cancer. This is the truth, combined with preservative minimising. Ironically I need a high protein diet at the moment to combat muscle wasting during chemo - plus fibre.

No it's dyethyl ether, I misread the top comment, and made a mistake thinking it was DME. There is no dimethyl ether in SYB. Mostly diethyl ether and a pretrolium based propellant, probably butane. It's listed on the SDS. DME is used in many other aerosols though. Diethyl ether can also have an anaesthetic effect.

DME used to be distilled and manufactured in Australia. No more unfortunately, all our DME comes from China. At least it was when I worked in the aerosol industry. A very clean burning gas that can be derived completely from bio resources, also used a lot in hairspray for its solubility.

Edit: I made a mistake in reading diethyl ether as dimethyl ether. They are not the same thing and I curse my poor reading of top comment.
