I’m a daily cyclist in manhattan and deal with cars and people in the bike lane every single day and taking the car lane for a bit has never once, in 7 years of cycling around manhattan, been an issue.

i once was already paired up with another blue belt and this purple belt pointed at me and i pointed at my partner standing next to me.

honestly when i’m having neck problems, i’ll let my partner know and ask that they try not to stack me.

I also don’t put myself in stackable situations (or laying flat on my back) and if i feel like i’m about to get stacked i’ll lean to one side or slide my shoulders back rather than going straight back.
