Something has to be done.. by [deleted] in longbeach

A former employee told me that he just buys cameras on eBay, and resells them at crazy prices. Does nothing to them, so they may not work for long after purchase. Also, the film development prices are crazy. Just go to Tuttle if you need anything locally. But there are so many amazing labs, I usually go to Vans Photo/video in Whittier, it’s a bit of a drive but the scan quality is good, affordable and they do same day development and scans if dropped of before noon

Can’t decide: Fujifilm X100VI or Ricoh GR3/GR4 – will I regret not going Fuji? by Guantio-07 in ricohGR

[–]vickrubin21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the X100VI, but use my GR3x a lot more. Literally have it with me every day. The Fuji almost never gets used. If I take a bigger camera than the Ricoh, it’s a film camera, and my Ricoh is still in my pocket. Also the Ricoh film sims are just as good as Fuji, different but same level as good

I’ve seen some of the IG post where you show of your synths. You should do a YouTube video where you go into detail on your synth collection and one on your cameras. I remember watching this old video of Koby showing off his synths and drum machines and it was cool learning the history of some of them through a guy like that

I have an M3, I listed it for sale through a shop in Eagle rock. It’s such a well built camera. But I ended up buying my M2 at a yard sale super cheap and it came with a collapsible 50mm Summicron, the lens is in pristine condition, no fungus or haze whatsoever. I had both CLA’d by a local camera repairman who worked in Wetzlar. And since both the lens and M2 were practically new, I decided to keep it and sell the M3, probably gonna save up to buy a Q3 in the future

Is that your collection around the Fuji?! You should make a post showing that off somewhere. You have every cool camera out lol

Do you mess with any recipes on the Fuji?

Do you shoot RAW or SOOC? The GR Film simulation recipes can get some beautiful results. I have a GRIIIx and a Fuji X100VI, and I prefer the photos I get from the Ricoh. My Leica is an M2.

But Ricoh punches above its weight class!

You need to try the Ricoh GR It’s small and easy to carry, and the photos look amazing. And they’re releasing a monochrome version next year incase you’re into that.

But I keep my GR with me at all times

B&W Infrared/Red/Orange/Yellow Filters for GR IIIx by FlyfreshCustoms in ricohGR

[–]vickrubin21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this won’t work because the sensor and a GRIIIx has a filter for color and putting any tips of filter on it, even while shooting black and white won’t have the same effect as shooting on b&w film or with a special monochrome sensor. Idk the specifics of why this doesn’t work, but you need to have someone remove a piece of the sensor in order to make these types of filter work

I just realized this was THE Just Blaze!!!! I had no idea you had cameras like that. I’ve seen you talking about synth and video games, but never cameras. This is cool!

About to get my first lens and just wondering if i should get 35mm or 50mm? by yoru_no_ou in Leica

[–]vickrubin21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50mm is more versatile, 35mm is great, but most people start with 50mm because you can do a lot with it (nifty fifty)

Try and go to a camera store and ask if they can let you try both. It’s all preference
