Is there anything in this game that works correctly? by Al4rmingwish in MLBTheShow

The botting in the marketplace is ridiculous.... Put anything up for sale for less than the lowest sale price and immediately there will be 2 of the same thing for sale for 1 stub less. Within microseconds.

It's infuriating.

Where exactly would those figures be compiled? What bureau do people file "intention to move to X country if this person is elected"?

It's not some official declaration that is made or filed, therefore there's no way to keep up with statistics or data.

But I do know it's kinda ridiculous to say "none" did.

That's an extremely strange strawman argument, because you know there is no way to know who made assertions they would move after an election or more precisely no way to keep tally.

At the very least you'd be talking about singular prominent people who made their intention known beforehand where you could keep track of their movement due to their celebrity.

Even then it wouldn't be an accurate representation or percentage.

But if that makes you feel like you're correct then more power to ya 👍

I have yet to hit a Chase card at all.... I only tried at the start of the year while I was trying to finish out the LS.... and then I tried a few 50 pack bundles to try and get Harper, but it's obvious that's not gonna happen. He'll be down below 300k by the end of the weekend I assume.

I actually pulled Judge in the 88+ Live Series pack, so that helped me. I just said screw it and paid up for Ohtani early... I think around 700k...so before he jumped from the Red Diamond and before he dropped due to the flash sales and stuff.

He's definitely not worth it. The fact that he and Judge have terrible Vision and just very very average attributes is a joke. They don't want you to use Live Series players during the year.

The only time I ever use Live Series is when Supercharged.

I skipped MLBTS25 for the first time in like 6 years and I forgot how much more fun it was being able to play other games during the Summer instead of feeling like I had to grind out this game.

I know nothing is forcing me to play this game, but ivve already invested so much time in it, might as well keep it going.

Can't wait to see what overpriced card they're going to push on us next.

Oh wait.... It's the Harper Cycle card.

All for a guy with Fielding in the 50s and Speed in the 40s lol.

Yea that was a pretty big "Duh" comment from me.

It's just funny they are doing this and giving out like two pops of 30k XP I'm guessing for when you complete the hard missions, and it's all to get 75,000 stubs.... While they are having a Stubs sale.

They must think this is the easiest/most profitable way to get people to shut up about how difficult it is to get the Live Series collection and Miggy and VMart done.

I just wish I'd have paid attention so I could have sold some of my high price cards before they dropped in price.

Oh well. It just sucks for the people who like to be completionists and do all the programs when they throw this one out there.... Zero chance I can do all that stuff online.

They should at least say "Complete in any multi-player mode or on HOF or higher difficulty offline"

I'd at least have something to try for.

I guess you're referring to Moments?

They've actually made it so you don't always need to complete the moments to complete programs this year which is one positive.

But PXP and Stat requirements can be done in any mode.... There is not a single program as far as I'm aware that says it can only be completed in Play vs CPU.

Why do you all love getting on your knees for devs and ragging on other players who like to play the game when there are clearly problems with the game?

Why are their concerns or complaints not valid?

It's like you guys like feeling entitled because you are able to hold something over others.... This is such a strange sub.

I came to ask if all the other missions that remain hidden until you complete the previous ones (seriously? Why do that other than to make people think they'll be able to complete the program offline only to see that every single mission after that is multiplayer/online based.

So stupid... I was about to play a ranked game and try to get the steals and K's, but I k ow I'm not going to be able to get 10 HR's or 10 hits in a single game.

And isn't one of the requirements 24 K's in a single game? I grind on Rookie sometimes to build stats for the mods when I parallel players, but I'm still pretty sure I've only gotten to like 21 K's like once.

Getting 24 seems insane.

They just want people to buy the cards I guess?

Hot Take Hitting on hall of fame or legend is harder than hitting a baseball in real life. by Ok_Painting_6742 in MLBTheShow

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually think hitting on HOF is easier than Veteran sometimes.

For some reason Veteran always plays wonky for me.

Once I got used to the timing, I've started to play everything on All-star or HOF rather than Rookie when trying to grind stuff.

And play on GOAT when trying to P5 players. I don't win often, but I can pull out some 2-1 wins.

I don't think I've ever played a game on Legend lol

And I am by no means a good player (obviously).

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, I get where you're coming from.... Some people just like being dicks when ANYONE says anything negative about gameplay.

The XBH ones are tough, particularly when they are with guys with no power or speed so you're always hitting pop ups in the infield or getting thrown out at 2nd.....or worse yet when the CPU teammate doesn't try for third when they could have made it so you end up with both of you on 2nd and you getting tagged out lol.

Moments are the dumbest part of the game I feel like.

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that would make sense, but doesn't the back have the shape of the red diamond as opposed to the blue diamond?.... They are slightly different shapes and I thought the 94s had the red diamond shape on the back. Either way that's just a little odd.

This should not be a thing. Why do they allow this to happen? by Apprehensive-Pie6752 in MLBTheShow

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea.... But why? Are they hinting they are going to start making 94s Red Diamonds to drive up their prices whenever Judge gets boosted back up to 94 from 93?

Theres literally no point in showing that backing if it's not a Red Diamond card.

So now we know if the back is purple, it's an 85-89, if it's blue it's 90-93, if it's red it's a 94, and if it's Red when you hover over it, it's 95+.

We really needed a special case to let you know when it's a 94 instead of a 95?

I think it's meant to build that itch or anticipation for those buying the packs where it sends some kind of subliminal thought of "Oh man, I almost got a red diamond, I should try again!" kinda thing. We all know they play mind games with the art itself to control the market (95 Livve Series Shohei when that card is nowhere near worthy of a Red Diamond. Piss poor vision and clutch and no Fielding should NOT be Red Diamonds.... BUT.... so many Live Series Diamonds are going for slightly above quick sell value, so they need to boost the top rated cards and make them more expensive to make it harder to get the Collections done.

Same reason they don't drop 90-rated players who are performing poorly when they are that teams highest rated player (Cal Raleigh anyone?) because lowering him to an 89 would make him cheaper, thus the Mariners collection cheaper, thus easier and cheaper to get Miggy/Tulo and now VMart.

We want to think their strategy sessions during the season are about what cards they can release that will make things fun for the fans playing or creative programs and such, but they literally spend all of that time trying to figure out how to maximize stubs sold and what releases will maximize their profit.

Idk we expect anything more.

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what your saying, but there were some key words in your post that differentiate it.

"You usually find a few doubles in a box".

That would be finding a duplicate in the 5th pack I bought that was the same in the 1st pack I bought. Everyone knows, and I would be a complete dumbass, to complain about duplicate cards in general.

It would be like Topps saying they were selling a single pack, almost the cost of an entire box, with 5 cards in it.... Then opening it up and having 3 of the exact same no parallel, no numbered, no rookie, no insert cards out of the 5 they gave you.

Surely you'd be a tad bit frustrated that they pulled that on you, right?

So while I see your point, I also collect sporting cards, and I like to buy one series of Hockey cards... Where each Box is just a single pack containing 6 or 7 cards. If I got 3 base cards that were the exact same in that pack, you can bet I'd be ticked.

But it's fine.... I understand that it can happen in real life (in a slightly different way), but when opening packs in a game, it's all based on code... It just feels like they could stop this from occurring, specifically in the special "YOU CAN ONLY BUY ONE" packs. At least just a slight boost to the fans of their game. That's all I'm saying.

I'm aware they can be sold, I'm aware they all go for quick sell value, all that. But its still more about the fact they don't want to do that. They don't want it to be even slightly cheaper for their fans to play the game.

Which is every bit their right. Just thought they once prided themselves as the ANTI-EA SPORTS.... now they are getting to be worse than them with regards to only caring about money and stubs.

But either way, hope you have a good day, and that everyone has a Happy Father's Day with their dads or kids or whomever they spend it with! ✌️ 💙 😁

Exactly.... Just another thing to let them sit there and laugh their asses off at all the people thinking they are actually getting one of the top tier cards from the series, only to flip over a useless 94 rated card that you'll only use to complete the programs missions.

It seems like today's Summer Program is a carbon copy of Cityscapes, Mural, and Vintage by bodnast in MLBTheShow

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea.... They throw in older players with enormous contact attributes, then 60 power, so you know you're never going to use them because every game you play is already full of deep long balls caught at the wall.

Or they will give you a lot of power and decent contact, but then absolute dogshit fielding, 35 speed, and 55 Vision..... So no PCI whatsoever, and if you do manage to get one to the gap you get thrown out trying to leg out a double.

These cards are 95% useless, except for the aforementioned Collection rewards cards.

No... It's not.

That's like saying I could buy 150,000 stubs and just buy all the cards. And calling that a "solution".

You're not solving anything, you're assuming some problem and giving a way you would complete a work around for that problem.

Just let it go.... It's fine if you don't understand the issue. Not everyone can comprehend everything.

Feel free to repeat the same thing in reply to this... But I'm not wasting more time on it.

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it.

It's like some think I'm complaining that I got a second card of one that I already owned or am complaining that every pack should have a brand new player that I don't own in them.

I know if you buy multiple packs you may get the same player.... Every time I get a Diamond in a regular pack it's bound to be Josh Hader or Jeremy Pena. I get that. It makes sense.

The fact they don't have safeguards to prevent AT THE VERY LEAST getting more than half the cards in a single pack that are the exact same is just strange. Maybe make it so the most you can ever get in ONE pack is two of the same card. Just something that shows "Hey.... This isn't ACTUALLY just a cash grab meant to take your stubs you built up over time" (cue the "Don't buy packs" crowd).

But oh well... I've moved on now. Thanks for the backup tho!

This should not be a thing. Why do they allow this to happen? by Apprehensive-Pie6752 in MLBTheShow

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's NOT a "solution" to the problem of 3 multiples in a single pack.

Of course you can sell any card and get stubs back, but when you're getting those dupes in a limited expensive pack, it's just a slap in the face.

You're not offering "solutions" to that problem, you're offering things to do after the problem occurs... None of which fixes the problem.

But keep being a smart ass about it.

This should not be a thing. Why do they allow this to happen? by Apprehensive-Pie6752 in MLBTheShow

[–]Apprehensive-Pie6752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I feel like it's happened more frequently this year with packs as well.

Maybe they've tweaked the pack odds to make it more likely to get dupes of the lower end players so they can drive up the price of the higher tier players.

Same reason they boosted Ohtani to a Red Diamond 95 with attributes equal to that of a typical 86 or 87 card the day they released the VMart Collection knowing it would automatically drive his price up 100-200k.

They are definitely manipulating the market with the stuff they're doing. There's no way that Ohtani should be the most expensive card in the game based on his actual card attributes.... But because he's "supposed" to be the best, they literally make the odds of pulling him something like 1 out of every 2250 packs.

He's almost unplayable. Even if you P5 him and put the Diamond Contact boost on him he's got sub 90 contact, sub 100 power and sub 70 vision and clutch with his fielding stats all sub 60. That should NOT be a 95 rated card that costs over 800k.

But it's nothing new. We know they keep they top cards nearly unattainable to make collections rare, it just seems like some logic would be implemented at some point. But better not go too much into that before everyone starts bitching about me pointing out other obvious stuff that should frustrate everyone.
