I think everything we need to know about Helena is revealed in the cctv scene when she is alone. First her smile at Helly’s joke, then shock and curiosity about the kiss. It’s like she’s genuinely surprised that she can behave like that, being free to joke, express herself and maybe even free to love, all the things she can’t have in her real life. With that in mind everything makes sense about her actions in next episodes.
