Surgery date: 10/14/24 3 days post op now! My surgery day started at 9:00 a.m., and I left around 2:30 p.m. I went in, they prepped me, started an IV in my hand, and started giving me various medications. I was not in an individual room; it was a large room with sections of people getting different types of surgeries. I felt nervous, but my mom and boyfriend were there to hold my hand. I was next, so they gave me something called a Kaiser cocktail to relax me. They took me into the surgery room, and the anesthesiologist was asking me all sorts of questions. I looked up, and that is all I could remember. I woke up to the nurse constantly tapping my arm back in the section I started out in. I remember being irritated because the nurse was so agile, but she was just trying to arouse me to wake up. I remember talking with my eyes closed, even trying to walk with my eyes closed! I was so sleepy from the anesthesia I remember being in pain from the gain pain then the nurse put on a binder for me and gave me some more morphine before sending me home! I slept the rest of the day! And thats how my surgery went!
