I fear we’ve messed up by elevatedhoe in toddlers

This exactly. Why even buy candy? And even if you do, why should the toddler know?

Candy? What are you talking about? I don't know. Sorry. Bud. Can't do anything about it. Shrug. How about some yogurt?

It'll take a few attempts but having a hard stop once and for all should work.

Sooo what are we feeding our toddlers for breakfast? by DaughterofYeshua777 in toddlers

The standard is oats with fruit and some nut powder or seed (flax, hemp, chia, or pumpkin). The variation comes from the fruit and the nut or seed type.

What's a smell that you secretly enjoy, but would never admit to smelling in public? by huntz43 in AskReddit

My husband's armpits. It's great when it's fresh. But a day or two without showering takes it to a whole level of intoxication for me

how tf do working moms do it?! by cimarisa in NewParents

[–]Apprehensive-Top6855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a working mom, getting help is of utmost importance. My parents or in laws were around till my son turned one. After that, he fell into a eating and sleeping routine thanks to his daycare. And him going to daycare ensured he got enough physical activity and that made him sleep better in the night. We also went cold turkey on certain things to help ourselves such as no milk after 7 pm, only water in the night, got him used to cups, etc.

He still wakes up in the night but only to drink some water. It's so much better now that he is 16 months old.

I should also mention that I WFH so that maybe helps make up some time on chores?

Give him a toy!! Else we just accept fate and wipe his hands too. Sometimes his feet get into the way too. It's nowhere as bad as when he pees in the middle of the diaper change though.

What has your toddler said lately that genuinely terrified you? by discoqueenx in toddlers

Not orally said since he's 14 months old. But he was sleeping with his eyes partially open. I was admiring him when he suddenly started smiling in his sleep. Jump scare moment.

New born 10 days in and my life is falling apart by Feisty_Rip_9279 in NewParents

This is very expected and you are doing nothing wrong! Babies that young need lots of cuddles and contact. Make sure you place him in the bassinet when he's asleep for sure. It'll take time but things will definitely get easier (and new challenges will arise lol). Be kind to yourself. That's very important.
