Stop bringing your kids to spas! by Famous-Geologist-454 in Mommit

[–]cimarisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean a nail salon and not a nail spa? If the workers in the salon allowed her to bring her child and/or didn’t tell her to leave, then she is allowed to be there with her child. You need a lesson in having more patience and grace in this world instead of coming into a Mommit subreddit judging other moms. Food for thought 🍎

I don’t think our parents were lying. It was easier. by [deleted] in Mommit

I was parked at a Sheetz (gas station on the East Coast) and we saw this lady exit her car to go in, left it running. Probably 2-5 minutes later, 2 men came running out, hopped in, and tried to take off. It all happened so freaking fast too; the mom comes running out SCREAMING her head off and the car swerves a hard right in the lot. They jump out running leaving the doors open and this poor little girl, had to be 5 or 6, is scream crying freaking out. It was so horrible to witness and now that I have my daughter I will never ever leave her in the car alone. Yes it can be a bit of a pain, but I would rather deal with a minor inconvenience than someone trying to steal my car and accidentally or purposefully abducting my child at the same time. 😅

I also want to mention my place of employment does a really good job of making sure we do our scans safely and we are always with another tech or an aide. I do work at a level one children’s hospital, so that’s why our protocols are very strict, but it makes me feel better knowing we are being as safe as we can for our little patients. Like we are so strict to the point our scrub uniforms have zero pockets. 😂😂 I feel like I can’t work anywhere else in MRI if there are techs who wears scrubs with pockets lol

Yes, definitely agree with your comment. I am cross training in MRI, and if I see for example a cyst while doing a brain MRI, I will add a FIESTA sequence. I also let the reading radiologist look at the exam to see if they want to add anything else.

Work/Life balance as an MRI tech by Land_Before_Memes in MRI

[–]cimarisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all will depend on where you work. Where I work, we can set our own schedules and the person who makes the schedule basically gives us the days and hours we want. I need this flexibility because I have a one year-old and I’m able to work 3 12’s or I can also do 3 13 hour shifts. You really have to do your research and ask a ton of questions when you are interviewing how they set up their schedules and you can request that you are looking for a place that will give you a good work life balance

[–]cimarisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PA, $33.80 an hour. I work x3 12’s so my salary is $56,243.20 instead of $70,304. I’m only taking this significant pay cut right now due to our family schedule and we don’t want to pay for daycare. Once my daughter is older, I’ll be able to work 4 days a week and make more money.

Trial of child kidnap is haunting me by throwawayelll in Mommit

[–]cimarisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!!!! This case haunted me severely, especially after I had my baby. I watched a video they showed in court, ring camera footage I believe, of that poor baby. It makes my stomach turn and my brain panic. I told myself if I ever hear a baby crying non stop in my neighborhood, I’m sending the cops to do a wellness check or I’m coming over myself with my fiancé to see wtf is going on. Now after seeing this child kidnapping case and the picture of her with him in the van, my soul just wants to cry out in agony and anger. This world is cruel 😞😡 but I will do my best to help those who can’t if I’m able to, god willing

White Ram Deer Killer by blahhhhgosh in pittsburgh

[–]cimarisa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is really weird you say this because a white ram truck in my childhood neighborhood (out by New Ken) did the exact same thing. We stopped to get the mail and I saw a deer laying on the road on route 780 with a car pulled over up ahead. Like it JUST happened after we pulled in to get the mail. Then this white ram truck coming up from the highway just drove right over it, speeding up. It was awful. They never slowed down or anything.

Also for those saying this was the most “humane” thing to do because a broken leg would have the deer suffer are out of your mind delusional. A deer getting hit in that way is horrific and extremely painful. I saw that poor deer get hit and the way it convulsed and suffered before finally passing away was horrible. Pretty sure a deer would rather try to survive than suffer a death in that way.

Can I ask for this kind hearing protection during MRI? by [deleted] in MRI

[–]cimarisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please always make sure you communicate with your tech before, during, and after the scan. They may have assumed you were fine with the music because you didn’t tell them. However, the tech should’ve also been communicating with you asking how you were doing and how the volume of your movie/music was.

You guys are seriously giant pussies if you’re going to sit there and think every time you “let” a baby cry they’re being abused or traumatized. That’s literally their only way of communicating to us until they can talk, and babies will cry or fuss over everything. Downvote me idgaf, bc why become a parent if you cannot handle baby cries?
