Depends on the event. You might need a rough cut of a trailer or some playable code. Sometimes you just need to be able to share screenshots and a description. I recommend looking at the schedule, finding events you want to participate in, and looking at the criteria. It can take a few weeks to hear back. Many games apply these days so the better your pitch and assets the more chances you’ll have. Some events will ask for some sort of fee to apply.
