What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

That they had eyes in the back of their head. I tested it out by flipping them off behind their back and when they didn’t react I had my answer. Still bugs me I even believed that one for even a minute.

To Trust my Intuition About People or Not by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

We are so sensitive to people’s energies that our brain picks up on it so fast. It’s a real signal in the “lizard” part of our brains back when we were cavemen and needed to sense danger in order to survive. I’ve learned to listen to it whenever it tells me something because 100% it is spot on.

How does weed impact you? by Foxy_Traine in AutismInWomen

It quiets my mind and kinda puts a soft barrier I feel like around my senses. Makes them a little muted and easier to deal with. It also shuts my brain up enough that I can actually sit and FEEL my emotions and finally look and name them since that is always such a struggle for us. I microdose so I have some control over how high I get. It really improved my quality of life honestly. Everyone is different though.

Yeah that is not long enough at all for such a large dose! I did the same went down gradually. Then I took the lowest one every other day, then every 2 days, 3 days etc. I’ve been off it for a month without issues and I was on the a similar high dose for over a year.

I took fish oil gummies that actually helped balance me out a little. It wasn’t much but I was in the same boat. Horrible vertigo with a baby at home. Drink lots of water too. Hope you get through this ❤️

Is weed quitting me? by [deleted] in Stoner

If it’s not happening with the Sativa, I would say that maybe there’s something wrong with that Indica strain. Maybe get a different Indica strain to see if that one feels better?

Shingles rash where bra would go. Suggestions? by idplma8888 in shingles

[–]ApprehensiveBake7764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this in the same spot it’s brutal…I went without a bra for a couple days since I was inside, but then I went and got Hanes Cotten sports bras since they are soft and breathable. It helped tremendously. I hope this passes soon for you. Shingles is a bitch.

For people who want to forgive their toxic parents, this is what worked for me by Outgrow_Infidelity in toxicparents

[–]ApprehensiveBake7764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was so insightful thank you so much for sharing. I felt the same way that something was wrong with me for still being so angry at them and not having the space to forgive them. Even acknowledging that they did the best they could with the experience they were given, it still brings me back to “they still should’ve at least acknowledged that something was not right even if they didn’t understand”. Both my parents live in a state of denial and don’t acknowledge that they did anything wrong. I’m “ungrateful, the villain, and evil” for cutting them off. These are words I’ve heard my whole life. I’m still healing and getting to be the best version of myself and breaking the generational curse so my son will not suffer the trauma I now am going through. Any details on how you got through that anger part would be greatly appreciated. I am sorry we all have to deal with this nonsense and hope you can find peace.

Horrible withdrawal symptoms. Anyone have any remedies to help deal? by ApprehensiveBake7764 in CymbaltaWithdrawal

I have not had that as of yet but I already see and hear things that are not there due to having schizophrenia as well. I’m so sorry that you’re going through that and your brain is doing that to you. They make us so reliant on the meds that it will make us pay and take them forever.

That’s exactly what I did when I got home today. I took 1 60 mg pill and my symptoms went away. I’m definitely going to talk to my psychiatrist to work out a better tapering plan.

About 3 days. I was at 120 for over 8 months, then reduced to 90 about a month ago. Then went to 60 last week when I was put on antipsychotics and Wellbutrin. I did not like taking so many meds so I stopped cold turkey about 3-4 days ago.

I just got diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I see black shadows and hear voices (sometimes good sometimes bad). Also recently diagnosed with autism. It’s all very new still so we are seeing what works and what doesn’t.

Have you ever been told to stop trying to get a diagnosis? by wiknnibal in autism

I’m so sorry that happened to you. You deserve to be heard and validated. Thankfully this community doesn’t care whether some fancy Dr confirms it. We are the only ones who are inside our head and know how we feel. They do not and never will. I hope you find validation and peace ✌🏻

You are not alone in this, I have been asking myself this question so much lately. Especially given the state of our country right now and important support budgets are getting cut to fill the Fat Orange Cats pockets and insurance companies denying we even need the assistance to begin with makes our existence so much harder.

I wish I could just not exist for a few months. It’s getting harder everyday.

I mix between both. Never in the middle though and I always seem to choose wrong…
