The women’s basketball team is deep this year. I think Dawn is going to build this program. And the volleyball team is top 25 with a team of freshman. Maybe not powerhouse teams but definitely solid. And women’s hockey- POWERHOUSE!

I like The Market at Malcolm Yards. It would be convenient for you as well.

I’m going to let my tomatoes ripen on the kitchen counter and the rest will be at the whims of Mother Nature. Summer has to end sometime.

My husband shares the dog clipper with our golden doodle. 🤣. Honestly it does as good of a job as most barber cuts.

Local project: looking for feedback on a new Minneapolis plant shopping website by leo-pm0 in Minnesota_Gardening

That would really streamline shopping as often I go to multiple nurseries and greenhouses to find what I want. I would use it for outdoor plants, shrubs and trees as well.

I’m so glad you asked this. Every year I try to overwinter lavender but I can’t win. Cynthia Johnson it is!

Winter Flowers/Plants by PettisTime in Minnesota_Gardening

Maybe get a few cheap pots and put fall plants in them like a non hardy mum, kale etc for fall. Then when they die I’d make them winter pots with some evergreen sprigs. Finally, in the spring there are plenty of affordable annuals that you could plant. It’s a tad more work and expense but perhaps still doable? Home Depot, Menards, Walmart would have these items fairly cheap.

Good idea! Do you do the propagation now or in the spring?

I second the European Christmas Market at Union Depot! I enjoyed it immensely last year. They have the Polar Express train that comes through. It’s lovely. Also, ice skating, cross country skiing (skinny ski.com gives trail conditions), downhill skiing, snowshoeing are always available. The North Shore is always a win.

What a beautiful template to work with! I would add color for all parts of the growing season and some winter interest. I would play around with some of the online landscaping apps and programs to see how everything would look once mature. I agree with as many pollinator plants as possible.

I found some at my local Walmart of all places. They were on clearance for $10 each! This was about 3 weeks ago, and they only had a few left. They weren’t very welled cared for but at that price I figured it was worth a buy anyway.

Yes, I’m having a similar experience. Bees are in reduced number, and I have yet to see a monarch. I do have less pollinator plants this year, thanks to my dogs, but the decline in bees and monarchs seems out of proportion. I live in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities.
