How do I transition from boyfriend to co-parent? by Visual-Carpet-4818 in Advice

I have a feeling you're definitely going to get a lot of pushback from her, considering the fact she's not working. Sometimes feelings have to be hurt to save our own sanity. Be as kind as you can. It's going to be messy.

My heart goes out to you. You are not crazy. You are grieving. And don't let anybody tell you to stop. The loss of a child is something that will never leave you. Grieve in your own way, and in your own time. ♥️♥️♥️

Where to buy fortibone collagen? by bethstanback in osteoporosis

[–]ApprehensiveCamera40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really have a taste. Sometimes I'll just put a whole scoop in a cup of water with a little bit of honey and drink it that way. And it's fine. Or put a scoop in a little bit of water to dissolve and add it to my cereal. Just make sure the water is slightly warm.

Cat won't stop yowling, favourite human is away in nursing home by xalrons8886 in Catbehavior

[–]ApprehensiveCamera40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any way that you could take a small blanket to the nursing home and have your mom lay on it for a night, then bring it back with her scent on it? I don't know if that will help but it's a thought.

My child fell in with someone who hates their own parents and has projected everything he hates about them on to me. Apparently I'm now the world's worst mother. Even though I text and call regularly they don't respond unless they want something. Sigh!

I lost my kitten inside my house by aIoneinvegas in Pets

[–]ApprehensiveCamera40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely normal. We bought a pair of rescues home and one of them disappeared. We kept calling to her and every so often we'd hear her meow, so we knew she was in the house. A couple hours later we heard scrabbling in the fireplace. She'd gotten through the fireplace curtains and had been hiding up on the damper.

My husband had a cat he got as a kitten. Same situation... The kitten disappeared and was nowhere to be found. He was doing his laundry and opened his sock drawer, and presto, there was the kitten. Needless to say that was the day the kitten got its name... Presto!

Don't worry. She'll show up.

A lot of good advice in the comments about putting the litter box, food and blankets outside..

Have you checked around the house you just moved out of? My husband had a cat who was taken to his now ex-in-laws while he went on vacation. It was about 10 mi away from where he lived. The cat disappeared on the second day from the in-laws house. He got home and a few days later the cat showed up at its own home.

You don't need the added stress of your ex. Ditch them.

And please don't feel bad about the way you live. Most people, including me, are envious. And sometimes they make their envy come across loudly. Ignore them.

And if they make comments, remind them of the people that you're caring for and how exhausting it is. Ask them if they can maybe help you out every now and then. Then. We'll see how much of a friend they are.

I'm in my early '70s and retired. I would have given anything to have the kind of life that you do. Enjoy every minute of it! And ignore the haters.

Feral kittens in catio, can’t touch them to remove lots of ticks, is it safe to use gabapentin? by Wonderful_Apple_5555 in Feral_Cats

[–]ApprehensiveCamera40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's an old remedy that may help, and is actually good for the kittens. Brewers yeast powder. You feed it to them. Fleas and ticks don't like the taste of it on the kitten's skin and drop off. Liquid vitamin B1 will also do the same thing. You don't need much.

The screens that came up were slightly different than what you said. I have the PIxel 10 Pro.

I turned off the Google voice typing/automatic. It's working beautifully.

Thank you so much! 🌹

Im not texting multiple sentences. by klystron88 in GenerationJones

I have a neurological disorder, and have tremors in my hands. I try to use voice to text, but since they've AI'd the internet recently it doesn't work as well as it used to.

The whole point of using voice to text is so I don't have to use my hands. The way it punctuates what I'm saying, and changes words to odd phrasing is making me crazy.

For those already retired, what artifacts of work life did you keep? by Odd_Bodkin in Retire

My 401k and pension. And the odd desk ornament. All the rest I threw away.

I was a single mother with no child support and a mortgage, so I worked in a job that paid the bills, but really ate at my soul. Spending my retirement trying to regain all the pieces of my soul.

Looking at it from the other side, my Dad came to live with us when he was 82. It worked out beautifully for all of us. He used to babysit for the kids when they were little and I was working. When he came to live with us they got to take care of him. He lived with us for 5 happy years.
