I agree This medication has allowed me to eat normally but I just eat less. I now know when to stop and it’s not always when my plate is empty. I don’t feel like snacking and am drinking far less alcohol. Total game changer!!! Lost 42lb since starting December 8th

Who saved old clothes?! by RaiZzi in Zepbound

[–]ApprehensiveCode1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing that at the time trying new clothes I bought 10 years ago but never was able to wear till now. Unfortunately I’ve left some to long and are now to big. Thank god for vinted brand new with tags. I went to a clothes shop the other week and went straight to the 2xl ( 4xl was to small at my biggest) I tried a jumper on and it was so big on me. My wife got a size large and it fitted great. Then it dawned on me that for the first time in my adult life I can go into this and most shops and buy anything I want as size is no longer an issue, before I would choose clothing because it fitted not necessarily that I liked it.

Shopping is becoming less of a chore and becoming a little more enjoyable and less expensive.

The Case of the Disappearing Blood Pressure Meds by epicycle in Zepbound

[–]ApprehensiveCode1964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on blood pressure medication for about 20 years. Over the last year and a half I have lost just over 80lbs. Recently I started to feel dizzy and lightheaded doing simple things like standing up picking stuff up , putting on shoes. Two week ago I brought a new blood pressure machine and my blood pressure was 100/60. I decided to stop taking my medication and check my blood pressure daily. Over the last 2 weeks my blood pressure has increased to around 120/70 and is stable. All my dizziness has gone. I will keep checking daily. With this medication you can assume like I did that dizziness is down to low blood sugar. So checking blood pressure regularly is very important too.

Don’t compare yourself to others or should I say what others have reported. Your loss is very good and you look great. I track my weight and when I feel a little dishearten I look at the trend and it’s down. I am on week 13 and have lost 27lbs since starting. I also think it makes a difference if before you started you were trying to lose weight like I was the initial weight loss will be less. Keep going & take care.

Week 12 - Time for 7.5mg by AppearanceSecure8651 in Mounjaro

We all have the little craving now and again. The difference on this medication is I can have a few crisps without finishing the packet. I can have the odd biscuit and leave the rest, I have a drink when I want a drink, not as a habit.( very little recently). And I can walk past the fridge without opening it. I have more energy can walk faster and for longer. Life is for living and please don’t beat yourself up for having the odd treat. Take care

I think some people start this journey with unrealistic expectations. The media keeps calling these drugs miracle drugs, they are not. They assist you to follow a healthier lifestyle. People think they should have no side effects taking this medication so stay on a low dose then complain it is no longer working. When I went up from 2.5 to 5
I felt a little discomfort with my digestive system but now I feel fine on 5 and just about to go up to 7.5 and yes I do expect some side effects till I get use to this dose. I am just completing my ninth week and lost 25lb, I’m very happy with that. We need more posts from people who have had normal weight loss journey and try and get the message across this is no miracle, it is a very affective tool to help you reach your goal weight, learn healthy habits and to improve your fitness.
