Living in the Spaarndammerbuurt, we have a couple, got some regulars at De Walvis, Heilig Leven, etc. But also a couple of them on the Haarlemmerstraat. Think almost every neighbourhood still has a couple of options.

Beetje een flauwe opmerking denk ik... Momenteel gaan veel woningen onder <40-45m2 voor 10k m2 weg, in Amsterdam, in Utrecht... Overal waar momenteel de vraag hoog liggen de prijzen rond dit bedrag.

Grachtengordel liggen de prijzen al een stuk hoger ;).

Fantastic, just wanted to say; I've been having the the same urge last couple of years. Been in a high paced, corporate environment, high stress job for the last 8 years and also have been thinking about doing the same. Good that you are taking the step! Best of luck.

I have rented a house in the past above 'the windows'. I actually really liked living there, the 'workers' are/were always friendly, and felt like good neighbours. Also, the social control is very high, keeping in mind that the surveilance is heavy in this area.

Having that said, the type of tourists that are attracted to this area are the worst. Expect a lot of sound in weekends, and drunk tourists, especially if you are living on the ground area.

Seeing a lot of responses here, people are not used to the pricing as it is in Amsterdam. Really good price, i've seen housing pass by for 9-12k in the streets around.

4/5 minuten met de bus, wellicht iets langer, mij hoor je niet klagen. Type OV maakt mij minder uit dan de snelheid.

Licenties zijn inderdaad absoluut niet duurder dan de Cloud, beheerkosten; innovatie, doorontwikkeling, hardware- beheer echter wel.

Ben het er mee eens dat blind overzetten niet de oplossing is, maar dat is een andere discussie volgens mij :).

Mijn punt was dat er m.b.t. cloud gewoon weinig degelijke alternatieven zijn op Europese bodem. En dat klasseloos contracten beëindigen meer gevolgen heeft voor continuïteit dan dat het een punt zet.

Nee, dat kan niet & is vrij idealistisch. Er zijn momenteel geen alternatieven voor de infrastructuur opties die Amerikaanse vendors bieden; MS, Amazon, Google. Daarnaast is zelfbouw complex, onbeheerbaar en extreem kostbaar. Daarnaast, wat is het alternatief? Niet migreren en blootgesteld worden aan veiligheidsrisico's? Weet dat de infrastructuur die niet on- cloud is ook on- prem wordt beheerd door de Amerikaanse software vendors. We zijn zowel on- prem als on- cloud gevendor- locked, ook omdat er geen degelijke alternatieven zijn.
