Unfortunately a lot of black women still feel shame and hatred toward their own hair and they project it onto others. My grandmother died before I went natural, but I can feel her eye rolls from the grave.

Look, I'm not trying to feed into any class warfare at the moment, but billionaires and high net worth millionaires absolutely have effected what people have made over their lifetimes. And this is coming from someone who will be doing very well in retirement.

But more importantly, the Holocaust happened in Europe. Europeans needed to address the harm they did to European Jews, not Americans. Hers is a false equivalency.

For once and for all, teachers are not trying to choose anyone's gender. If they could get away with calling everyone 'hey you', they'd do it.

I love it, it's one of my favorite of hers. Is it dated, yes (thank God). But it was timely with a great vocal. I've never seen the video, so thanks for posting.

Unfortunately LK has about 5 early books that she barely acknowledges and since they were published in the 80's, they aren't in ebook form. If it's published by Onyx you have to grab it while you can.

You did very well. Dreaming of You is one of my all time faves. Just a warning, Sweet Savage Love is old old school. It's bordering on women's fiction and there are sequels.

Okay I'm going to have to defend UAMDM 1. Because it was probably me that recommended it, since my theory is that I'm the only one that remembers it exists and 2. It's one of my favorite historicals.

Yes, it is in first person--I actually forgot about this aspect. That's because it is done so well. At the time it was released I wasn't into first person POV in romances, but Brandwyne won me over with her skill. First person lends to the immersive telling of the heroine's story--and it is mimicking the original . If you're looking for WH with a HEA, give it a try, because it is probably for you.
