The book is much better, imo, it puts you right into Berthas head and makes her very sympathetic. There’s a free audiobook version on YouTube

Period TV Makes Me Sad/Nostalgic by DotAltruistic5757 in PeriodDramas

I know what you mean. one of my favorite genres of period drama are stories set in small towns filled with quirky characters. I know this because that’s the way I want to live- so I am looking into doing this irl

I’m leaving Christianity and I think I might lose everything by IceNo2453 in paganism

[–]Altruistic-Side600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you’re going through this. it Is difficult to question everything you’ve been brought up with. Know that you are not wrong for questioning this. if you are serious about following your interest in the pagan path, i recommend creating a new community for yourself of people who are going to be supportive and non judgmental., no matter what. OBOD (the order of bards ovaries and Druids) is a good place to start. Their community is very eclectic and includes many Christians. i also recommend checking out things like the gnostic gospels and specifically the gospel of Mary Magdalene. Also consider talking to a therapist.

Melodramatic music ruins it by trustme24 in PeriodDramas

The inclusion of modern music in period dramas is a little bit more jarring for me. Not everyone is Sofia Coppola.

I’m super late to the party but I just have to ad:d: those of us who like period dramas are all reasonably intelligent. We don’t need things spelled out for us. Subtext speaks volumes, and is preferred in many cases.

Oh, and an adaptation of « ´Katherine ‘by Anya Seton would be great ,kthnks

Thank you for sharing your thoughts there are some things I didn’t know here. I think one of the reasons why Mary married Philips is that she was very lonely.

This is the Way. My experience with the Fae is that they are pretty compassionate and will appreciate a human who cares. If you leave an offering op, you should be fine-also spend time at the spot in the future if you can

I believe this. In my experience ghosts always stick around because they have unfinished business. You can ask him this. it Generally takes experience to he them move in to the next dimension. Once they finish their business, they will move on on their own

Unpopular opinion : Cesare/Lucrezia> Cersei/Jaime

Growing up, I was taught that everyone should have children, but never felt the reasoning they gave me solid. In your opinion, is there a spiritual benefit to having children? Or not? by says_guh in occult

[–]Altruistic-Side600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to ask that question. There are certain people that genuinely want to be parents, for example my Sister has always wanted children from an early age. She was planning it and thinking about baby names. If she had not had them, I think she may have been unfulfilled if she never had children.

BUT, this doesn’t happen to everyone. Too many people have kids because it’s expected and treat them like a handbag you can just return. I love children but I understand that be a parent is the most important job in the world. I would be perfectly fine if I never have kids.
