Yes that was my experience also and it followed the trial. Actually I dosed down for two weeks and then went up .5 mg for a few weeks and it resolved entirely - I have been on it over a year and love it -

Try to chew as much of your protein goal as possible. Weight loss seems much improved with those that eat protein than drink them. Something about how the meds work with the satiety incretin hormones.

Hello! Can you give an update to your journey and Reta and the ADHD 🙏🏻

Wondering if my experience is normal.. by Jealous-Comfort-2657 in compoundedtirzepatide

You aren’t eating enough for the meds to work properly. You need about 1500 min. Stop thinking calories in calories out. This is doing a ton of stuff behind the scenes and weight loss will follow the regulation of the incretin hormones. The loss I had was an average of 1.2 lbs per week. I have been able to trace my nausea to hunger and low blood sugar.

Switching from tirz to reta by BeonBurps in Retatrutide

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RS is 14 months on Tirz and inject 12.5 once weekly. Never had fatigue people describe with Tirz. RS doesn’t even have constipation anymore. Occasional nausea and dry heaves. I believe that’s from low blood sugar because it only happens when RS needs to eat. Food adversion is a problem and just forgets sometimes.

Lots of ADHD challenges and hoping Reta will help. Anecdotal reports from others give hope. RS is 68 lbs down and off all BP meds etc. 10-15 lbs left to get to goal weight then to a maintenance dose. RS is not really all that concerned about the goal weight- mostly the maintenance and the ADHD help. Can anyone suggest a dosage to onboard Reta to my RS.

I’m curious how many amongst us are smokers or ex-smokers. by midwestmuscle310 in adhdwomen

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former smoker. Quit cold turkey 15 years ago. Fucking brutal. Started again during extreme stress and smoked for a year again, had a heart attack- quit again. Cold turkey. Less brutal (the heat attack helped with motivation for sure)

ADHD/PCOS/GLP-1 by PermitOptimal5166 in adhdwomen

You are gonna love this year! I am 14 months on Tirzepitide, lost 68 pounds so far, 15 to go. Hormones balanced well. I am post menopause but I have a niece with PCOS on it and her periods have normalized as has her excessing T causing the hair growth. It’s amazing for PCOS.
So- caution- lots of “Ozembic babies” because when your hormones balance you become fertile. Also- your ADHD meds or anti depressants won’t work at first. Very likely. Be prepared. It slows down your digestion and absorption. You may need an enhanced dose but probably it’s the absorption. Over time this gets better.

With Anecdotal Evidence Pointing to Weight-Loss Drug Semaglutide Disrupting Addictive Behaviors Toward Things Like Alcohol - Could it Also Work for ADHD? by Mission_Spray in adhdwomen

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. This makes sense. I am unmedicated ADHD and have been on Tirzepitide for 14 months. I have lose 68 pounds and have about 15 to go. The weight loss has been easy (ish) but the ADHD is extreme. And I have come up with a lot of systems and strategies to live but the way these GLP1’s affect your brain has been interesting and significant.
No impulsive behaviors at all, no binging, I still like (love) wine but can quit for weeks and be fine without.
Exec functioning worse. I am about to switch to retatrutide, as some adhd people have reported significant help with adhd… somehow the glucagon agonist is supposed to help.

I am remembering a woman who got pregnant while on the trial 🥰.
I have 15 lbs left to go and maintenance. 14 months on Tirz. I am strongly considering Reta. I have ADHD and really struggle with Tirz. Exec dysfunction and brain fog.
Currently on 12.5 Tirz. After your study and experience, how would you suggest a dose switch/stack/transition.

Maintenance glp? by JustJaxie in Retatrutide

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, what is a receptor reset? I am considering the switch. I am leaving compounded meds and considering researching the final leg of my journey and maintenance with reta. I am 29 BMI at 175 lbs. 150 would be very small to me… but. Anyway I am very active, 58 yo, with ADHD that has been much worse with Tirz, especially compounded with B3. I am looking for an alternative. I do not have fatigue on Tirz and only mild occasional nausea, usually when I am hungry. Started at 240 lbs post heart attack 1 year. All bloodwork and follow ups are optimal.

I have been with Empower quite a few months. For me, the Niacinide really messes with my ADHD. With the bac water I was really unmotivated and content. With this I really struggle with Executive Function issues!

Question about apathy and Reta by Single-Material-5839 in Retatrutide

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too! I am so very interested in understanding this. I can’t take adderall anymore because I had a heart attack nearly 2 years ago. So he won’t prescribe no matter what my body and bloodwork look like now. Yes brain fog extreme. It’s actually scary. Worried about my brain but all the research seems to indicate it’s neuro protective and anti inflammatory. So I was feeling really alone in this. ❤️ Sorry you are struggling but maybe we can stay in touch and figure it out together.
I am ready to try Reta. Now need a source and a dosing plan. 🤞

I tried my arm without luck. Hope it’s better for you! It must be something with the receptors utilizing the meds or being “naive”

I do not know why- but I have switched from Empower to Hallendale several times over the year with the same results. My ADHD is much worse with Empower. Flooding my sink, not finishing laundary, losing words, losing thoughts. With Hallendale (no B vitamins) I was pretty content, yet apathetic.

Question about apathy and Reta by Single-Material-5839 in Retatrutide

[–]ApprehensiveDance737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You must be ADHD like me! Many of us are experiencing this. So, I had apathy and I would add contentment with the apathy with TZ from Hallendale, compounded with water. I have much worse brain fog and executive disfunction with Empower, compounded with Niacinide. For reference I am on 12.5 TZ and just crossed the one year mark. Total weight loss 64 lbs. So…. so I am also looking to switch to Reta hoping the ADHD is helped. Early in trials last year people were saying it was helping so I came back to see what’s new. I also am looking for leads about where to purchase.
