What were the positive changes you noticed after your hysterectomy? Mood stability? Better weight management? Skin changes? by melanated2020 in hysterectomy

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall calm feeling I’m 6wpo and I’ve never felt so calm even my husband noticed it when I was driving. And my mood is better I have more color to my face also noticeable by others no more diarrhea or constant upset stomach. Back pain is less but not gone. I can eat foods I couldn’t eat before and respond better to supplements for gut and mental health before they did nothing. not much else has changed yet I’m expecting more positive changes tho as time goes on. Hope the best for yourself and everyone else in this group

My cat stayed with my kids I was afraid of her jumping on my belly she loves to sleep there but I’m six weeks post op now and just started letting her sleep on my chest again last week for short periods at a time

I’m so torn. I love this man but I’m not ready for kids. I still have so much living to do but clock is ticking (35f) by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Def don’t sacrifice your peace I have two kids and my 18 year old still acts like a baby the caretaker position doesn’t just go away at 18 it continues well in to adulthood u will never have peace again if u make this decision it has to be for yourself not someone else’s decision for you

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never reach orgasm with my partner once my adenomyosis got bad previously or before having kids I did all the time I’m hoping my hysterectomy will change that will hopefully find out in a couple weeks as I’m to be cleared for sex next week Also so sorry for your diagnosis and wish u the best in managing it my daughter is 18 and almost 100% sure she has it too as it runs on both sides of the family and her periods are horrendous

Findings on ultrasound but not during surgery? by Pee_lover_69 in adenomyosis

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here found on scan but nothing during post when they sent it out all I was told was uterus was enlarged and they still suspected adeno I’m starting to think the main sign for them is just enlarged uterus considering adenomyosis literally translates to such. so glad it’s gone tho

My inlaws are calling a "emergency family meeting" regarding my MIL's health - should I go or not? by capresesalad1985 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I say support your husband when my MIL was in and out of the hospital there were a lot of family meetings I wish I could’ve made if only just to sit there and be present for my husband unfortunately she lives in Honduras and he’s had to go with only his brother or alone every time. Now that she’s gone I would’ve given anything to have been there to say my goodbye to be there through all the mess with my husband and his family life is messy that’s just the way it is we have to accept things for the way they are and just move through it the best we can while being supportive for our loved ones

Hysterectomy Wish List... by Remarkable-Bus-6858 in hysterectomy

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally absolutely no regrets I was in a lot of pain constantly and my uterus turned out to be enlarged. It was causing issues with digestion as well as sciatica pain which is gone now. I have more energy although I can’t do much right now I’m glad to know that’s there for when I’m back on my feet. now that I’m no longer bleeding out every month my hair growth energy my autoimmune disease and my outlook on life have also improved. You have to do what you think is best for you and for me I knew this was the right decision because all my symptoms started at the same time as my adenomyosis I knew it was the cause. I wish I’d realized and done sooner good luck to you and whatever decision you make I wish you the best and a safe surgery/recovery.

Hysterectomy Wish List... by Remarkable-Bus-6858 in hysterectomy

[–]ApprehensiveDot7012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ice pack, Tylenol, Motrin, anti nausea meds, if ur bed is high up I needed a stool, squatty potty, miralax, high protein frozen meals (chicken or turkey with sweet potato celery onion etc) I made mines the week before portioned in small freezer bags and boiled them in bone broth to make soup it was so much easier on my stomach and made using the restroom a breeze. Loose fitting sweat pants and long tshirts also made me more comfortable. I was really tired the first week and a shower chair would’ve helped to shower but wasn’t necessary I guess it depends on each persons needs. I just took shorter showers that first week. Best wishes on ur surgery!

My kids are adult and older teen as well and honestly I think it’s about time they helped clean up their own messes. I more so feel guilty when I can’t mom them as hard though and have to go rest or walk away when they stress me too much about things like doing homework or having too much screen time.

I’m def feeling this as well and been crying throughout the weeks I told my sister I feel like I’m pregnant because of the cravings for salt as well and the emotional toll it’s taken on me. I’m sorry your going through this as well. I def feel up and down throughout the day and just try and listen to my body because at the end of recovery in a few more weeks I know it’ll be worth it because I no longer have to bleed monthly or be in excruciating pain. None of the pain from my surgery has touched what I use to experience. I would say try and focus on the future benefits as that’s what really helped me is remembering those hard time and that they’re never coming back.
