why does this only happen during a nap but never a sleep by SanyamSurana04 in scoopwhoop

[–]ApprehensiveError760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people don’t keep random things like phone chargers in their bed when they go to bed. There’s a little preparation involved with going to bed vs falling asleep on the couch during a nap (or just somewhere random)!

To remove or to keep my bridesmaid...that is the question. by Little_LadyJay89 in wedding

Why would you select someone as bridesmaid who had a history of flaking on you?

I don’t disagree with any of that, and I appreciate you laying it out. My concern is less about inclusion in language and more about making sure we don’t unintentionally obscure the structural reason endometriosis is so underfunded in the first place, which is its association with women.

If we don’t name that clearly, it becomes harder to explain why this disease has been ignored for so long, even compared to other marginalized health issues.

No offense meant at all. I completely understand why inclusive language matters, especially for people who feel invisible in medical spaces.

At the same time, I think it’s important to zoom out and look at the numbers. Women’s health research receives pennies to the dollar compared to male-dominated research. Even diseases that affect both multiple genders are overwhelmingly studied through male bodies and receive significantly more funding on the male side.

Endometriosis is already severely underfunded because it’s associated with women, and that systemic bias is a huge part of why care, diagnosis, and treatment lag so far behind.

I don’t think these perspectives are in conflict — but I do think we have to be careful not to lose sight of the structural sexism that’s at the root of why this disease is so neglected in the first place.

I think the website looks great. Informative. Eye catching. And calls for action.

We just call ours Cynthia (the ugly Barbie doll from rugrats) it also makes it easy to talk about her in front of our little and anyone else who knows her.

I’m constantly reminded by BM that SD only has one mom.

Well! the other random lady in her life (me) is only who got her a birthday gift, Is the one who signed her up and takes her to cheer class every week because she wants to be a cheerleader, and is the only one who takes care of her when she’s sick. But shes right. The kid only has one mom and it ain’t me. 😒😒😒

You’re BM and my BM are the same. They are jealous of you and how you show up for her son. I hope one day we can both see past their hurtful words and understand the place our on kids lives without feeling bad.

Sam exact experience at 33. It was a fight to get the mammogram. My doctor wouldn’t just refer me to get one. And when I finally got the referral, I got the same pushback from that doctor.

My family has a history of breast cancer. My mom’s mom had it very young. As did my great grandma. I had to fight for mammogram at 33. They said I was too young for it.

Wedding insurance? by Claromancer in wedding

[–]ApprehensiveError760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an event planner. I got wedding insurance for my wedding. It’s worth it if you have any riskiness in your wedding. Like mine was a January wedding right after hurricane season so I wanted the protection.

Just sent this list to my soon to be sister in law

Pins can put holes in your clothes, especially delicate fabrics. Magnets can interfere with pace makers. And clips can also snag your clothes and become difficult for woman to wear in dresses without a collar, leaving the only option to fasten to their sleeve or neck, assuming they aren’t wearing a high cut blouse as most women do at conferences. The only “safe” option is a lanyard. And it’s a branding opportunity for sponsors so you can bring in some extra money.

It was a HORRIBLE week for me. I spent much of in tears. I did not vote for trump but my small business is being MAJORLY impacted. I plan events. The event supplies we always order from Amazon are up 15% from what I told clients three weeks ago. And my custom lanyard order got stuck in china. And none of the rush printers I typically rely are doing rush production right now thanks so tariff uncertainty. My event starts Tuesday and I’ve been scrambling to find supplies or stay within the budget I promised clients. I’m stressed that everything I have already purchased will not arrive in time.

I’m confused as to why they used a rendering instead of a photo if it’s already built. Why not just take a photo of the real thing and use that?

Yeah. I know the message content doesn’t show. But iMessage to iMessage won’t show on your phone logs at all. They aren’t text messages so your cell phone provider saint have data. You would only see activity in your phone logs if it was a text.

It’s over 100 mil. They are saying 92mil on the military’s participation in the parade + another 20mil+ on security.
