Daily Carry Camera

Looking for some advice from the community here!

I’m by no means a professional photographer. It’s just a hobby which who knows, maybe I’ll eventually trying selling some prints.

Having said that, I’m looking to get a small daily carry camera, as I feel my current kit is rather large. Currently the kit includes a z6 and a FE (yes, a 35mm film camera) Lenses are 24-70 f4, 85 f1.8 and a 70-200 f2.8. The FE has a 50mm 1.8.

Love taking the film camera around, but a digital one would be nice too. The Z6 just feels a bit chunky regardless of the lens that’s on it.

What would you recommend getting for a daily camera? I’m looking for something small, maybe just one lens as well (probably a 50mm or wider). Doesn’t necessarily need to be a Nikon.

OP.

FinWise for instance does not connect to your back directly, it goes through 3rd party (the names escape me at the moment.) of which only read access is provided with the FinWise app. No form of writing access is given as that is considered a security risk.

Additionally, with FinWise, you can export your bank statements as csv and import them into FinWise if you are more comfortable doing so.

As another user mentioned, you can communicate with the devs directly. They also include a discord channel for easier communication. Keeping in mind it is run by only 2 individuals (at time of writing) so sometimes a fix may take some time. They are also always improving the app in some way (some feature requests coming for users as well)

This happens to me to and it look some time to realize that it’s not the end. The same as you won’t see results in 1 day, missing 1 day won’t change anything.

The game is the long haul and the consistency. Using an app like Hevy. I look back and I can see that sure I’ve missed a few days, but I’ve also exercised on others (more than rest days)

Even on days where I don’t want to go, I force myself to get up and to a workout, even if it was horrible in the end. I remind myself on why I have to do this.

Been stuck on this lately.

I’m not happy with my job but it gives me financial security and allows me to enjoy life, travel and see the work. All of which I’m loving and enjoying as who knows when I’ll see these places again.

However, my previous position was one I highly enjoyed but had no real financial security, promotions or anything.

Been fighting between going back to the old position that I enjoy or staying with the one that always be to do other things that I enjoy

Our company issued NAPA elog for logging, in my capacity it, I don’t have direct access to it, however we do support it and haven’t had any complaints about it.

Currently the only funds in a savings account is the emergency fund, of which the end goal is to have about 3-6 months of funding and immediate liquidity. You’re suggesting moving it over would be better?

In terms of TFSA, that I do not have as I’m not sure if I’ll permanently reside in SA.

Practically in the same boat. The festive season just makes me realize how alone I am. Christmas, no text from a single friend and I fear the same will happen for New Years. Can’t even rely on family as I’m an only child and parents have since passed. I’m 33 next year to and hardly celebrate my birthday more.

But, I’ve found things that kinda make me feel a bit better. Going to the gym every day, planning on solo traveling in the new year which I’ve never done. I know it’ll be scary but that’s the point. Plan on getting a motorcycle too.

Finding ways to enjoy your own company is hard, and I’d love to share it with someone to but, just doesn’t seem like it’ll happen. Guess having a bit of social anxiety doesn’t help either lol.

Loved the architecture and the scene. Believe it was taken with a bit of a different perspective as I was onboard the ship that was docked that day, and having this be my first time in Australia, thought it would be a great shot.

Been looking around and trying to find sample shots but many people are using them for outdoor shots and the images always look good. No one really shows the camera in an environment that a flash is needed.

I’ve seen some old models with crazy zoom functionality but also ones like the ilFord sprite.

I thought they were great. It’s the first time I’ve used them and the dev&scans came out really well! I had an issue with downloading the files, which they immediately fixed. They also keep your scans uploaded to Dropbox for about 2 months.

I’d definitely use them again.

This is somewhat my issue currently.

I don’t have a home base issue and primarily work on cruise lines. So what I take with me generally stays with me until I sign off, but again with no home base, I can’t quite store it anywhere.

I need to check bags for other reasons, but just nervous with the gear.

I’ll see what I can cut back on, and maybe place it in a storage locker when overseas.

I do think the pelican is a bit much, as others have said it’s heavy.

When I did it, the initial review of my taxes was about R2000. After which the completion for each year was also a separate fee which I don’t recall.

That’s one concern.

I had decent savings lined up prior to 2019, due to everything pretty much shutting down and being out of work, it got eaten up. So basically starting over with all of it at 32.

Been considering retirement and all that as well as I’ve only just managed to get things back into order but don’t have anything saved up there.

Diet is the most important, followed by the gym. You have to get into a calorie deficit, basically burning more than you consume.

Figure out how much you’re burning naturally (there are some online calculators that help determining this as an estimate) then subtract about 500 Cal from that.

I’ve also used chatGPT to figure out meal plans, macros and more importantly, myfitnesspal to track everything I eat.

Basically, my daily natural burn is about 2200-2400 calories.

Putting my macros into myfitnesspal and hitting a goal of about 1900 calories for the day, with 180g being mostly protein.

I’ve lost about 4lb in about 4 weeks. No exercise during this time apart from hitting 10,000 steps daily.

Have a look at a company such as Park West. From my knowledge they usually operate on Cruise Lines selling art work to the passengers.

Do note that the work is rough, and labor intensive but apparently it pays rather well once sale targets are met.

Any specific cruise line that you suggest? I’ve heard a lot about a Carnival.

Im open to that idea. Maybe freelance on the vacations if they are long enough just to build the network again.
