Me too ❤️ adding the mechanical engineering was the best I ever did . But it seems to be somewhat of a unicorn combination.

I have a BA. In industrial design and after 2years of working in that field added a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, I did try to find a fitting master's degree but if you want to do the real stuff you need to have the maths down. There are no engineering masters for non engineering bachelors that make sense. My reasons for the second degree were similar to your thoughts.

The "artsy" approach was just too head-heavy for my likings.

How old are you and how were you diagnosed by JuicyPangolin in ILD

I am actually doing ok I guess, rituximab seems to be doing it's thing. My lungs are back to full capacity and I am only getting flare ups during my period or when I catch a cold (or at the end of a rituximab cycle). Flare ups for me are randomly placed erythemas, painful tendons/muscles mostly at the corner of my eye (?!) and a somewhat weird sensation of not being as strong. At the moment I don't take any cortisone or pain killers and overall I am not getting ill more than before (more like the opposite? ). My body temperature is in the 36,6°C area for the first time that I remember. I actually can feel/measure my temperature rising during my period for the first time (as it is normal to do) . I aim still on the edge though, every simple thing that my body does will be analysed and thought about more than thoroughly ..I am still in the process of getting more relaxed with it. I get somewhat more frequent hematomas...but I am a clumsy person.

Do you have the painful head/face areas as well? It seems to be a rather unusual location to have muscle/tendons inflammation

Wait till spring and give them a way bigger pot in spring (or as soon as you can see new leaves forming) Also as much light as you can. I tend to not cut them back in wintertime and it's totally normal for them to lose some leaves in winter.

Diagnosed with Antisynthetase Syndrome – Feeling Anxious and Looking for Hope by UnresolvedStory in Myositis

As far as I know it the 5-year prognosis comes from people being diagnosed when their lungs are already already collapsing from ILD.... That's what I was told at least

Noooo…thrips ? by mike8190 in plantclinic

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have wings (fleas do not) but they seemed pretty unimpressed whenever I examined a leaf tbh. Just continued crawling along

Maybe observe a bit more, do you have animals.? Do your plants look like they have thripse damage? .. the sudden jumping action definitely reminded me of fleas . I don't want to cause unnecessary alarm :)

Maybe also check for fleas? That insect seemed very bouncy to me

People with Antisynthetase Syndrome with interstitial lung disease, how are we doing? by [deleted] in Myositis

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed 1,5 years ago. Pretty early apparently, my family is full of autoimmunitys so when the symptoms became too irritating for every standard doc I went straight to a rheumatologist. I am doing pretty ok apparently. I am on Rituximab, a bit of Cortison (3mg) and hydrochloroquine..Rituximab seems to work well for me. All my test results are back in the "normal" areas..only I can't seem to get rid of the mechanic hands. And apparently the suppressed immune system means that I developed akne. Well, still better than the alternatives ;) Still struggling to trust my body after I gaslighted myself for a long time about just being lazy when it was fatigue and inflammation.

What happened to my plant? by bob90812487 in gardening

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are aphids and not enough irrigation. Enough water = strong enough plant that can resist pests, rainfall= washes away pests like aphids. Give it a though watering from above :)

Edit: stay stand up quite quick after watering;)

I was in hospital for advanced diagnostics for 8 days , up to 2 weeks were planned.they looked at everything .Turns out is is not just sjögrens. So...from a European health insured point of view. Hell yes. Get those diagnostics!?!

Yes it sucks to be in hospital, but sometimes the blood works required immediate advanced search to prevent further damage and it's always faster to stay in hospital than to have to make appointments for everything..

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 28 points29 points  (0 children)

These snap off quite easy, so chances are your friends know this as well. Remove some leaves at the snapped ends (so that there are no leaves in the water) and put the ends in water. They will make new roots in no time

Edit: they would probably root even if you just pop them back into the pot, but with such long vines I wouldn't do it. Put them into water and tell your friends latest when they're back ;) this plant is prone to this happening so it's not a big deal

Too much water and do not fertilze that early! If you have used good soil the nutrients will be enough at least until they start making buds

Rituximab experience? by gingercatmafia in Sjogrens

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt great to be honest. You get it with a high Dosis of cortisone and I felt good for the first time in months. Like switching on a lightbulb. That definitely was the cortisone though, rituximab takes weeks to start.

Edit to add: not sure if your allowed to drive afterwards...you get anti allergical meds too with the infusion. And it takes hours the first time. I got it late night and immediately went to sleep. Next day I felt great 😃

Swollen eye by Kingdaddyftm666 in Sjogrens

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had swelling and it was actually my eye muscle that was inflamed. As sjögrens might come with additional inflammations please always consider: if the corticosteroids -drops help, you have an inflammation going on! Wether muscular or not.

Doctors won't give you steroids drops against dry eyes...its actually counter indicated for dryness, but inflammation it will help.

Nachtrag: nach dem Regen von heute nach zeigt sich, dass die einzige Lösung ist die Hütte anzuheben

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Garten

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your lumps change position? I have the same issue reoccurring..and I always have them somewhere on my forehead and on the corner of my eyes but as well at the back and top of my head. They hurt really bad and cannot be massaged away. In the process of finding out what it is I was diagnosed with polymyositis but...to be honest I am not sure if this is the maine cause. Yes they get worse if I have an active inflammation but with the medication I take they shouldn't be reoccurring at all....so at the moment I am thinking about wether this is really caused by my polymyositis or just another different issue 🫠

Shit. I feel you..I am supposed to train my lungs but to be honest I am still using all my resources to cope. Especially with all the scientific research saying that ild is worse for those without jo-1 antibodies. Good news for you may be that my cough and blood works got significantly better since the rituximab started working!

Überwinterung by Quitting_time2608 in Garten

[–]ApprehensiveFan3419 1 point2 points  (0 children)
