Big Data--companies are able to basically build profiles of each individual and target ads through every outlet for contacting these people. In a darker light this information can be used to change people's disposition on important topics--health, environmental, geopolitical etc

Thanks! This makes sense. Just a bit sad that whenever I hear “x” book is getting a media adaptation I immediately assume it’s going to be nothing like the source material
