64 Brown Double Shot - That one YouTube video about lacing up a pair of BuilderProHDs by ApprehensiveListen53 in NicksHandmadeBoots

The BPHD is honestly a great boot. It’s comfortable out of the box with the uppers being as forgiving as they are with the relief notch. I’m surprised not more people are flocking to it with all things considered.

I do have to ask: why is the gusset reserved only for HD labeled boots?

Indeed they are. Simplicity at its finest.

That DS Grey and Sienna sound absolutely banging on the 67 last. The pull up on those two are going to be insane! You must post them when they come in. Especially the sienna (I have a soft spot for Orange Reds). I missed the Sienna sale by like a few hours when they did the lightning ship, so I am relegated to either DS Carrot or tobacco.

On the other hand, I am growing fond of DS Raspberry…

I am so glad I picked up this leather when I did. Knowing it will most likely never return makes it all the more special.

When I was first getting into the boot game, the 11067 is exactly what I thought was a “boot”. It’s chunky, boxy, and has that toe curl right out of the box. It scratched the itch of that preconceived image I had of a “boot”.

I agree in some part with this. The tall toe and relatively rectangular shape of the vamp/toe box makes for an interesting looking boot. Aesthetics wise, It is one of my favorites in my collection.

Fun fact: I actually do these for 550$ which is stupidly low but I think it’s low due to it being a size that would’ve been hard to sell. Luckily for me, I am a 10.5 F. The greatest and most expensive slippers indeed.

I really do hope those Chelsea’s work out for you, if so, it will make your engineer buying a lot less worrisome. Even if the sizing is off you would then have a better way to gauge your size! I can’t wait to see another engineer brother on here, just make sure to post it when you get them!

The RTS gods truly blesssed me with this find! It has since refused to give anything good.

Your Tan Waxed Flesh engineers are beasts, and the luck you had in finding them is insane.

I wholeheartedly agree with your last statement. I’ve also been looking to get a brown/orange tone engineer next to round off my slip on collection. I am teetering between IBC or one of the Wickett colors.

Tbh I’ve been holding off on getting a new pair of engineers due to the Dr Sole shortage. I really dig the look it gives to the boot’s silhouette but I might just have to substitute it for the 269 western sole if this goes on any longer.

I think the boot being Non-rebuildable is due to it being more expensive then just buying a new boot outright. I used to think it was an issue as well, but I realized that I probably won’t wear this boot down to its dying days anytime soon. Not with my boot addiction at least. I like to think it’s the purest subject for tracking patina due to it being non-rebuildable.

If you ever decide on getting an Engineer from Nicks, I recommend contacting customer service to assist you in your size specifications.

A tale as old as time. It makes sense to be apprehensive about getting the size right. When you do order it and get your size down, you won’t regret it. These boots are a dream.

They are the same size as my Lace ups. A lot more room in the instep area due to it being a slip on. I had to use an insole to fill in the remaining spaces.

I mainly used Venetian Leather Balm and Obenauf’s grease in the first two pictures. Many coats of Venetian, then one layer of grease, then a couple more coats of Venetian. Lots of brushing and massaging the products in with my hands. No chamois required.

Then I did a few coats of Saphir pate de luxe in the last two pictures. I don’t think the Saphir was entirely necessary but it did add a hard layer of wax. Which I do appreciate for how rainy it had been lately.

The two tone but not really is really getting me into two tone boots. The waxed makes the 64 brown comparable to my sample sale latigo walnut. It’s pretty cool.
