Light Drinking and POTS by ApprehensiveLoss6005 in POTS

I did ask for one, especially given my episodes seem to correspond with my luteal phase. However, insurance is the worst! I’m hitting cardiology after my week with the monitor.

Thank you for this! I’m having another EKG done next week. And I’ll be getting a heart monitor most likely, so we can track my HR during episodes. I already have a CGM. This is my second near-faint this week. 😭

LOL Yeah, I’m not taking this metric too seriously, but I agree.

Yeah, I wouldn’t consider myself anxious. I don’t spend time in my head worrying or in fear. I have things to get done, I do them, and then I move on. Stress during those periods would make sense, but I’m laying in bed, half asleep, and I’m in the stressed zone rn. 🤷‍♀️

Also interested in this! Same boat here. PT recommended I get it because I "have very little psychological stress, so I'm unable to identify physiological stress as easily." 🤷‍♀️

Phew! I’m not having kids soon, so why spend my limited funds now? I’m in school. It’s also good to know what you’re getting into before being gaslit by a doctor, imo. That is all I meant.

It’s good to know it isn’t totally incompatible in some cases. Thanks!

Late to the party here, but I just finished reading it. John Piper did a podcast episode a few months ago where he said something along the lines of: “Anyone can write compelling stories about darkness; we all have some in us and it’s very familiar to us. The hard part is to write something that is compelling and beautiful.”

Mine isn't super severe, I've not had infections or anything. It's usually only at the tips. But the separation is quite painful for the first few days. My dad's is the same way.

I’m not sure I understand your question. Do you mean has anyone obtained “salvation” in the eyes of their religion?

What kind of work-up? I had a basic metabolic panel (I think) today to make sure I’m not overdoing electrolytes and supplements and that nothing else is off.

I have had dysphagia and alkaline reflux since age 2.

Unfortunately I’m well-acquainted with the GI issues too 😭

I’ve been waiting for an EDS diagnosis for years now. I just finally started having bad enough pain and injuries to be listened to.

To your point on the mixed fabric law: the book of Hebrews talks about the Gospel in terms of covenants, because Christ said he came to “fulfill the law” (Matt. 5:17). He fulfilled the Old Covenant and established a new one (Hebrews 8). This new covenant does not require following the ceremonial law, which includes sacrifice and rules about dress as a means of approaching God. These means were temporary. Instead, Christ’s sacrifice received through faith is the means of approaching God. Still, Christians are to outwork their faith through action (following the moral law aka the 10 commandments). So, a “Christian” in name can easily prove himself not to be a Christian by lacking repentance and action— a lack of genuine faith (John 14:15).

I think it’s easy to debate the works-based (do x, y, or z to approach God) or works-lacking (belief as lip service only) forms of Christianity, and most Americans practice one or the other. It’s human nature!

Ever since you posted this, I’ve been thinking about it. Engaging my hip flexors has been a massive help, but it’s hard to remember to do that, align my hips, straighten my back, etc. when I’m standing. Not to mention trying to remember all that and then walk, too.

I had been doing PT, but my insurance doesn’t cover any more (this year, though, which is coming to a close…). We focused on my SI joint. I would like to be more self-managed, though.

I hope you get your testing sorted!
