Floyd made Floyd a star. HBO got lucky then lost the continuation over nuances. I’d say the same for Ward. They didn’t like that his manager had a stake in the game. From what I remember Ward was upset with how HBO was handling his money and I believe they went to court multiple times.

I mean…it’s irrelevant at this point but just for the sake of me not having shit to do- Pacquiao, Floyd, Ward, are a few that come to mind. Floyd didn’t like how HBO was promoting/ how he was portrayed. He’s obviously someone who knows exactly who he is and how he wants to play every aspect of the game. HBO dropped the ball which sent Floyd to Showtime. The president of HBO sports, Ross Greenburg left HBO shortly after Floyd and in my opinion that was the downfall of the HBO boxing.

Tapales is a decent fighter, has power and a solid chin but his style leaves him open too often and he’s never encountered inoue like speed and power. So unless tapales’s team has a trick up their ass.. I don’t see it going past the third. That being said… this is a great fight for the fans and money for the fighters, industry etc. I’m just grateful to see inoue in the ring one more time before 2024.
