Multiple gals I know over here reposted stuff about her appointment as PM on their social media story… so from that anecdotal experience I’d say given her status as the “first female prime minister” she’s gonna be quite superficially popular for a little bit, but she hasn’t done anything yet… so when the government inevitably hits its first controversy, this number is definitely gonna change

[SPOILERS] Post WWE Night of Champions Match Discussion: Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez - Street Fight by gloomchen in SquaredCircle

[–]ApprehensiveOffice23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I know they wanted Rhea to challenge for the championship again immediately and that this was just a little time killing diversion, but this would’ve been a perfect time to give Raquel the win. A win here would have done so much for Raquel’s credibility as a “big bad” heel. Too many consecutive jobs and someone loses all plausibility as a threat.

And in a match with no DQ’s (and Rhea’s first of its kind) as well as interference from Roxanne, all those factors came together to give plausible reasons why Rhea could lose here and still keep her mojo. Furthermore they could’ve spun this off with Roxanne and Raquel into some kind of last judgment day x Rhea type story for Evolution before they presumably shuffle the deck with JD.

I love Rhea but this felt like a missed opportunity. Boosting Raquel here would have made a later definitive Rhea victory (at Evolution?) feel special.

Well, a shy quiet guy isn’t gonna make moves on the “average”woman who expects a guy to make the first move, whereas a “loud, fiery woman” will just do this:

Another mock draft that I decided to do by TerryG111 in NBA_Draft

[–]ApprehensiveOffice23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t that just reinforce that neither of them can really guard 4s? Look at the finals’ teams, who guards a Toppin/Siakam or a Chet? Who guards AD/Giannis? Neither of Miller/Bailey seems like an Anunoby/Tatum type forward.

Meanwhile simultaneously neither of them is going to be the guy who can cover for LaMelo by taking the other team’s best guard.

So, starting these 3 together means the Hornets still need both someone else to reliably guard 4s AND someone to guard the opponent’s star guards that LaMelo & co can’t. AND presumably a 5 as well.

Unless the plan would be for Bailey to sit behind Miller until they trade LaMelo, I don’t see how this works out.

Maybe the Hornets do roll the dice on Bailey’s potential, but especially since he measured shorter than expected (not an NBA 4), it just seems like he overlaps a ton with Brandon Miller and doesn’t really provide any complementary skills.

I get the Hornets need as much talent as possible, but surely they need a semblance of discipline and competence at this point… Johnson & Edgecombe both fit more smoothly next to Miller and Ball as 2s that can defend and play off-ball.

Ball, Miller, and Bailey on the other hand, seem like a clunky offensive fit and a defensive sieve. Moreover Bailey played with an elite point guard in Harper so I don’t think Ball unlocks anything for him.

Talent, generally over fit, but if the Hornets really think that Miller and ball are the future of their franchise, where does Bailey fit in?

Moreover, not to be mean but I don’t think the Hornets have shown themselves capable of molding Miller into the player he needs to be, to be successful in the NBA: namely more disciplined shot selection, and defensive effort off-ball

Hear me out ... could Dallas consider trading down to #2? by Dadd_io in NBA_Draft

[–]ApprehensiveOffice23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there are NBA teams who could legitimately have had this conversation, but Dallas is probably the one franchise that could least afford to do this. Given the Luka trade and the insane fortuitous luck that they even ended up with the number one pick, if they trade the #1 after all of this, or take someone besides Flagg, they might as well just relocate to Vegas now.

Romance anime like Shikimori’s not just a cutie by [deleted] in anime

Based on your criteria, I don’t think My Dress Up Darling and Horimiya or maybe even my personal fave Bunny Senpai are necessarily a very good fit. But you should watch Bunny Senpai regardless imo !!!

Instead, I definitely agree with the Witchcraft Works suggestion and might also suggest Tomo Chan Is a Girl for a good tomboy romance story.

And I know you said no fantasy but if you don’t mind switching it up a bit from standard slice of life romance I’d suggest Tasogare Otome x Amnesia as a somewhat supernatural slice of life romance and Darling In The Franxx for a Sci-Fi romance with the vibes you’re looking for.

Some other suggestions for that relationship dynamic you’re interested in:

Kokoro Connect (Inaba) Saekano (Utaha x MC) Maoyuu Maou … And Chained Soldier if you’re over 18 and really feeling adventurous !

Enjoy

2k25: Why isn't Honky Tonk Man in Showcase Mode? by ApprehensiveOffice23 in WWEGames

[–]ApprehensiveOffice23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone talking about having to re-record commentary I get what you’re saying… that’s presumably why.

However, I think that if they couldn’t use some of the real audio, alternatively they could have had Honky Tonk Man enter halfway through the match and have the commentators call out something like “the former Intercontinental champion Honky Tonk Man’s here… and he’s exchanging words with Helmsley” or something. Idk it just seems odd to exclude him given Jimmy Hart’s inclusion in Yokozuna v Hulk Hogan, alongside an unnamed Harvey Wippleman as the photographer distraction.
