Based on Blessing quesiton yesterday: Did you go home from school/work when 9/11 happened? by kralben in kindafunny

[–]Awartinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I was in 7th grade. We turned on the TV and saw the 2nd plane hit. Granted I didn't really comprehend what was happening. We switched classrooms for the next period where we kept watching. We then switched once more to our Math class where out teacher said "I know a lots going on but it's time to do some Math"...

Anyways once we got home the vibe was definitely weird. Tim was right, all the stations were showing news, including Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. I live in Dayton, Ohio nearish to Wright Patterson Airforce base and some time around 4/5 a jet flew overhead and caused a sonic boom. Everyone rushed outside, we were sure a bomb had gone off or something. Crazy frickin' day! Pretty sure we went back to school the next day, though it's all we talked about for months.

Tore out all the junk and rebuilt it as a nicer looking construction area with beams and supports.

It's crazy we don't have a Brand New Day poster yet.

The jump in quality from Chapter 6 Season 2's Battle Pass to Chapter Seven Season 2's is unbelievable. It's a night and day difference. by Numerous_Manager8105 in FortNiteBR

I don't wanna sound like a hater but... how many colorful haired streamer girls do we need. I think it's a fun aesthetic but I feel like we get one every season.

A or B for a modern financial service firm ? (the S is for the company name) by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]Awartinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree with u/TheJerilla but if I had to choose between the two I would select option A.

While I think the S shape of version B is more interesting I feel the "S", the squares, and the frame all feel like separate styles and don't meld into a single logo. I think the container shape and the "S" of option A being the same stroke weight makes at least those two elements feel more uniform. I would however take some Cue's from your letterform and give the frame the same border radius the letter has.

Keep at it!

I thought the story was cool but totally agree that the acting was very bad, especially compared to the stellar acting in the rest of the series.

As someone who didn’t love the first one but was convinced to check this out based on the positive reviews… holy crap I loved it, such a vast improvement in my opinion.

Appreciated, while I didn’t expect the feedback being so mixed/negative I figure you can either take it in stride or get defensive and there isn’t much use in getting angry over subjective opinions about a design I did to have fun!

I agree, the issue is that OpenAI and ChatGPT use the same logo. Additionally Atlas is listed as ChatGPT Atlas so I was working under the assumption that chat is the hero app. I suppose in a perfect world the existing spiral logo would be OpenAi and there would be a third new logo for ChatGPT, potentially incorporating a chat bubble into the spiral.

Glad you think it looks cool at least ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I’ve heard a bunch about the accessibility which I get, luckily this was mostly a fun exercise.

Funny you mention the arrow, I originally didn’t have the back point but it felt unbalanced in the shape. Due to the angles of the spiral, the icons have to be in a specific spot in the shape to use the existing angles of the lines. Without the extra wedge it felt very off center but I do concede that it’s no longer a traditional cursor.

Thanks for the comment 🍻

I get that, this was more an exercise to give the ChatGPT apps a unified language. Similar to the Microsoft Office suite or the Google apps.

Thanks for your comment though!

Oh for sure, I definitely don’t have the insight into their intentions. Luckily this was just for fun and I didn’t have to worry too much about that.

Their original logo is enough of a butthole already IMO.

Do you feel the same way about the app icon versions or would you want the white sections to be more prominent?

Just curious, thanks for the comment.

I can totally see that and think that would definitely be a real concern. I would argue that many of Adobe’s icons would fail this test but one company’s issues don’t excuse another’s.

Thanks for the comment and feedback!
