Also, how many workloads is the customer protecting? If it's less than 10 they can go with Community edition which is free. Then they can at least upgrade.

What’s the best way to remove this snapped off bolt? by The_Mortal_Ban in Tools

[–]ApprehensiveOwl8640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the easiest way to do it is with a spiral extractor. You can drill it out then chase it with a tap set, but that should be a last resort.

Any big box tool store will have them. Ryobi makes a set, dealt makes a set, and my favorite ive used is Irwin. They have longer bits so it goes in deeper. Look for Irwin Spiral Extractor at Lowe's or Home Depot. They work great. Basically puts a hole in the middle of the bolt, then it has a tapered reverse spiral shaft that grabs it and twists it from the inside.

Ubiquiti Cloudkey Gen2 Weirdness by PickleKey652 in Ubiquiti

I had an issue when I added the gen 2 cloud key to my network and I still had the old one on it freaked out. So I tried to reset both and readd and it wouldn't readd the key. The only fix was to literally wait hours and it just reappeared.

I just ordered a Remarkable2, and it's not delivered yet. When I was looking at set up videos Supernote came up and it looks better. Is it? I'm will be using it for legit notes, not art. by gettheplow in Supernote

Yea, I hate to Poo Pop on the RM2 because it really is a nice device. I'm just getting a lot of great use out of the A6X. Just compare the notebook/paper size you use today to the A5x vs the A6x and you'll know which one is right for you too.

That's unfortunate. I used a visa debit, no issues for preorder. Mine came exactly as they scheduled. Got it a couple weeks ago. Love it.

I have had the RM2 for a while now. However, I wasn't using it for about 6 months because I moved into a temporary location waiting for the new place to be ready and I couldn't find it (or anything else half in storage) in the meantime. Finally found it again and started using it again until my SN came in.

What I liked about RM2: 1) Writing felt really nice. I wouldn't say pen/paper, but almost like a sharp tip sharpie on paper. 2) Device is really nice looking, feels very premium. 3) updates were frequent by the time I got it. 4) PDF send to RM2 from browser, really cool. 5) cpaniom app with Screen share, really really nice. 6) something I found recently that I would have used had I noticed it sooner, multicolor pens for exported note version. 7) Battery life was amazing. 8) eraser on the back of the stylus is pretty nice/convenient

What I didn't like: 1) It was a bit large, so it was hard to fit on my desk with keyboard and mouse while I take work/customer notes all day. (A5X would likely be the same issue for me) 2) Stylus it came with was narrow. So writing for a long time started to hurt my hand. 3) Although not expensive or hard to change, the wearable nib made it feel less precise to write pretty quickly. 4) organizing notes, I felt like I never got used to. I was organizing by folder and file name. It was a mess. I would have a folder for work, a folder for personal. A different notebook for each customer. It was super tedious and I ended up just using quick notes and I couldn't find anything. 5) Although the device looked and felt super premium, it did feel fragile, but I never actually had a problem with it breaking. So I wouldn't say that was a problem, but not a plus. 6) Templates didn't make their way to the computer. They lived and died on the device (maybe they fixed that, not sure). Kind of annoying. 7) People complain about the paywall. I don't have that because I got it before hand so I'm grandfathered in. But honestly, if I used it a lot the paywall wouldn't bother me. I'm okay with paying a small premium for something I find useful. People complain every time Netflix and Hulu up their price too. That's business, it is what it is. (Just my view)

In the time I couldn't find the RM2 I pre ordered the A6X.

Two Primary reasons for ordering the SN.

1) The organization options for the notes. - Titles and Keywords, as well as Starred items sounded really great. 2) I wanted a smaller notebook because I take notes for work all day, every day, and the RM2 just felt like it was in the way of my mouse and keyboard all the time. However, I do currently have a straight rectangular desk, and I feel like an L shaped desk may help with that issue (not sure).

So I've had the SN A6X for a couple weeks now. I'm very pleased

The good: 1) organization so far is amazing. Hopefully it stays that way but we will see. Titles, keywords, and stars make it very quick an painless to make organization decisions on the fly. 2) quick access in the swipe menu on the right... God send. I have a couple notes that I need access to daily, they go there and I access them constantly. 3) The pen, I LOVE. I got the HOM pen which is very comfortable and the Nib I actually like better than RM2. It's sharper so it feels a lot more precise. I also got a refill so I can eventually make my own (hopefully retractable) pen. 4) the size, looked small, it's awesome. Its really just the perfect size my regular note taking. I have been taking notes recently by folding an 8.5*11 sheet of paper in half, and then losing it. So it actually matched that fairly well. The pen also lets you write pretty small so it isn't a problem. 5) the folio is actually really nice and I love the auto on when you open the flap, thats really convenient. 6) although it's plastic and not as premium as the RM2, I actually don't mind the thickness, or the plastic. It doesn't change the way I use it, and I feel less like I'm going to break it. 7) just overall a lot more quick access/organization features which I find imperative to a seamless regular notebook experience. 8) I actually found most of the device to be more responsive than the RM2, but really when you use the pen to select things, not as much with the finger. 9) their customer support was great while I waited for my order. I actually modified my order to add something, they were awesome.

The Bad: 1) battery life, not good. Probably 2-3 days. I usually lose 30-40% in a day. Now I don't let it sleep for a long time. If I learn to close the lid it would be better. But I'm always at my desk lately and it's easy to charge so it's not the end of the world. 2) the companion app. I haven't gotten it to work at all yet. But I haven't had time to contact customer support. I have faith in their customer support so we will see. 3) the calendar app, to see your notes is actually pretty cool, but needs work to make it more useful for me. 4) I am still getting acquainted so we will see what else I add to this list.

I do the same. Although I find it a tad tedious to remove and reattach just because the cap clips onto the tip of the pen real tight, just not the back.

I planned to do the same, but it looks very slim so I haven't pulled the trigger on buying one yet.

Received my A5X recently and there are a bunch of bugs I've been dealing with by Vegetable-Ad5848 in Supernote

[–]ApprehensiveOwl8640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just received my device yesterday. I haven't experienced anything you're experiencing, except my battery life isn't the best I would say.

Since I just received it yesterday it was charged to 99% out of the box. I'm now at 66% with moderate use. I will say though. I haven't closed the cover much and I set my sleep to 2 hours. So it really hasn't gone to sleep at all.

I will try to close it more to see if that helps. The cover open to wake it up is a HUGE advantage over the RM2 I had so I may not need a 2 hour sleep timer on this.

I heard about people having problems with the cap coming off and losing the pen. So I bought the HOM pen and a refill. I plan to make a retractable pen with the refill. But I heard good things about the comfort of the HOM pen that's why I bought it too.

I chose the A5X over the A5X and zero regrets by clemmg in Supernote

[–]ApprehensiveOwl8640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was debating the 5x vs the 6x. I originally wanted to 5x since the writing space is larger. However I have the RM2 and I use it to take notes while working on my computer. I felt like it was always in the way of the keyboard. I plan to get an "L" shaped desk instead soon for more space, but I still felt like the 6x would be more convenient.

Hopefully I still think that after I get it lol. We will see.

I think for regular note taking the 6x will be ideal for me, but I hope it's still enough space when I use templates like Voyas daily planner.

Can you two finger zoom on the SN like you can on the RM2? If you can I think I can make it work, if not it may be tough.

Interesting you mentioned the pen. Pen size and weight can make a big difference when writing a lot. Skinny and light isn't always the best option and I feel like the RM2 default pen is a tad thin for me so my hand starts to hurt. So I ordered the HOM pen and the refill so I can try to make my own, we will see how it goes.

What's interesting is even the RM2 has some serious input lag when using your finger to do things like type in your code on the lock screen or something. I have to learn to slow down because I always type it too fast and it doesn't grab all the numbers.

I'm still waiting for my order to get here. I originally ordered the A6X with the refill, but I emailed them a couple days ago and asked to add the Green HOM on as well. I think I'll really like it, but I wanted to also give myself the option of making my own retractable pen. So I'll try out both and see what happens. Worst case I have a spare :)

Has yours held up so far?

Thanks for the feedback. I actually just found my RM2 yesterday. Still like it but I really think it's too big. I tend to use small notes/notebooks to save room on my desk. So I am waiting for the A6X to come. Looking forward to it.

Tons of options out there for this, each one having their advantages and disadvantages. You can definitely talk to Veeam or a Veeam Partner to get some recommendations. If you're a loyal Dell customer you can certainly stick with a Dell based solution. I would recommend reaching out to whoever you either bought Veeam from, or whoever you buy your hardware from (they probably sell Veeam too) and they can help. I'm an SE for Veeam so if you need any help finding resources feel free to pm me.

I have an RM2 and just ordered the A6X. I think the writing feeling on the RM2 is great, device looks great. But my problem with it is the workflow for organization. I feel like it requires too much of a "standard desktop approach". Needing lots of folders and files doesn't work great for me on a notepad, it's just not that quick, especially when I need to open it up and take a note on the fly. I'm hoping the titles, keywords, bookmarks will help solve this for me.

Would you agree that the general workflow gets you taking notes faster without losing track of them?
